Ive just got back online and since coming back on I am unable to access certain websites i.e yahoo mail, facebook etc...
Just spoke to my ISP and they said its a problem with my internet exporer and it needs re-installing. And that a third party is not allowing me to access these certain websites. Has anyone got any ideas as to what I need to do to sort this problem out?
Many thanks

Try unplugging your modem for 30 secs
Then reconnect so it configures also clear all temp internet folders it should then be ok!!
Is the error message ''Cannot find server or DNS error'' - you can check this in the properties of the failed internet page
Good Luck!

I had the same problem, i couldnt even log on to a friends web site ... she hadnt altered any access so i knew the problem wasnt with her page but aol were adiment it was the 3rd party, not them. I know its AOL's fault but they refuse to take responsability and the call centres based in india are no help what so ever. Im ditching them just as soon as i can, to access sites now i have to use 'explorer', it works fine from there, or you could download firefox
fierfox? whats this
also im already using internet explorer. is this what you mean.

dont bother with the aol page ... thats what blocks my access (and always stalls on ebay) ... i use explorer now (the blue e on the desk top) which is better or forefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/landing/better/?utm_content=0705features&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign=0507lndgpgtest&gclid=CKfQqaDkjJICFQI6aAodDkqFCg
see what you think
To get a better idea of whats happening, can you do the following:
- Click "Start", then "Run"
- Type "CMD" (without the quotes) into the Open box, then click OK.
- When the black window comes up you should have a prompt like:
C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)>_
- Type: "tracert www.facebook.com" and press enter.
- A load of numbers and text will slowly appear. When it shows "Trace complete"...
- Right click the window and select Mark from the menu
- Select the text which appeared, then press Enter.
- Paste this into a reply in this thread.
The code which appears shows how your computer is trying to contact Facebook, and can show where there is a problem.

Yeah, you seem to be connecting to facebook successfully, which means there is a problem at your end rather than with AOL. Try downloading Firefox from www.getfirefox.com and see if that has the same problem.
just downloaded that firefox but it wont connect?
