Aargh, now I have four social events I could attend! Why do they all happen at once, instead of being decently spread out? :)

Can you add my name please Jill? (Builder's tea, white, no sugar) It's possible that by then I may have remembered what it was that I was so desperate to buy. There again, maybe not.

Thank you to whoever did it for the sticky.

If your son tips his Vimto into your sock in progress it goes sticky and it doesn't half mess up the tension.

Don't worry, I have my small cup to bring just in case I do come. Or maybe I should just bring a bucket :hihi: and then I have biggest cup, hmm. Tempting, but my bucket has been used to wash the floor and is a bit mucky, will have to stick to the small cup :D

I'm coming too! But have an urgent crochet thing to do, so may be in a corner with burning fingers and swearing quietly for the evening. I'll understand if you all have to back quietly away.

Incidentally, crocheting a dress from 4-ply is not the cleverest thing in the world for mental health.

Thanks Jill. Next time will someone remind me not to sit in the middle - I kept switching from listening to the conversation to my left to the one to my right and it made for a very strange evening. You would not believe how fast these conversations change subject, I just couldn't keep up.

I know what you mean, W4B! I spent most of the evening feeling confused by all the conversations going on, and possibly looking either vacant or confused... no change from normal there then!

On the plus side, I did nearly finish a second sock, just the toe shaping now.

Thank you, once again, to the lovely Jill.

Thank you Jill for letting us loose in your smashing shop! I had a lovely evening, picking up toe tips from w4b (glad I didn't just wade in with the scissors now...) and chatting in general. Lovely cup of coffee I may add - probably the best yet (didn't like to complain all the other times.....) Till next time then :D

(Yes, I know there were more than three of us but I'm trying to look as if I remember my O level English Lit, the Scottish play and all that)

Are we still the last Wednesday in the month or are we now the first Wednesday in the month? I have to book my pass outs well in advance as there's a potential conflict with meetings of the Chesterfield Canal Trust. I have priority as I knit all the socks in this house (and I don't get put much) but I still need to book early.

Perhaps we can leave the meet week to our esteemed Group Leaders to sort out! It was moved to accomodate the John Lewis last Wednesday in the month meeting although I'm not sure this meet has too much of an impact on it as it runs earlier (5 - 7 p.m. or something similar?) with the exception of Knitbird's availability to join this meet. I really don't mind when it is but maybe we should do a straw poll to see how this change may affect the ability to attend.

I am happy to go with whatever most people want to be honest - as Jill said the main reason for the swap was to allow people to go to the JLP meet aswell should they want to but if its not an issue thats OK. Just shout out what you would prefer - I do not want to make the decision because whatever is decided will surely upset someone and I just cant do that sort of thing right now:(! I am unlikely to be able to make a meet at the end of April or May though due to lone parenting duties - but dont let that sway your opinion ...not that it will Im sure:)

A comment was made for a GL to make a decision - I said that I didnt think a middle Wednesday was not good idea mainly because either the first or last in the month would be easier to remember...does that satisfy you?

Now why dont we just go back to last Wednesday in the month (unless Jill or whoever is hosting cant do one month for whatever reason) - that worked before and everyone knew where they were! I suggested a change before as people appeared to be complaining that there were 2 meets on the same night and I wanted to try and make sure that people could go to both if they wanted to - I shan't do that again! :suspect:

JillM
06-04-2008, 08:10
OK - I shall now take it that the meet is back on the last Wednesday of the month.
Done. Sorted.
See you on the 30th April....????????
(I actually meant that perhaps we could have another vote on it LisaH, not burden you with the decision making. I don't think I made that very clear though!)

Wheezy
06-04-2008, 08:16
After the comment was made for a GL to make the decision, you then said to shout up on any suggestions. I suggested something in the middle - I shan't be doing that again! :suspect:

I think the GL's are here to make sure we behave and follow the rules! I guess that if they were making all the decisions we'd be moaning about them making all the decisions :D
So, I have made the decision :hihi::hihi::hihi: Last Wednesday of the month. Topic closed. Thankyou and goodnight:wave::D

thanks jill, for solving the problems, and the wrangling about which day it is to be.

I think it's only fair that you should be part of the decision making process, particularly as it's your hospitality that provides us with the aladdins cave venue for the meet.

We do appreciate you opening the shop for us, and hosting it all. Without you we'd not be able to have the wednesday night meetings. Thanks.
