well this is probably an 'afternoon question', but...

Instead of flowers in the middle of the wedding guests' tables, and instead of sugared almonds :gag: I was thinking.... as it's Easter Sunday - we could have chocolate in the middle of the tables :D

I've discounted the moulded bunnies or eggs (the cake will have bunnies on) so Thornton's continentals it is

I just need a stand/container.

I originally thought this sort of thing (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=69636&item=6161138213&rd=1)

but now I'm thinking 'glass bowl' (http://www.johnlewis.com/Shopping/Product.aspx?ARA=Home+%26+Garden&CAT=Dining+Room&SCT=Tableware&PRT=Decorative+Bowls&Type=SKU&Id=230132968) or something shallower, but loads cheaper, coz I need 10!

Anybody seen anything suitable recently? (Preferably under a tenner)

How about a sundae Dish - you know the sort of thing that can be used for ice cream and fruit? You should be able to get some of those from supermarkets certainly the big Asda anyway.

Ah, Asda

It needs to be more fruit bowl sized though, coz the tables are huge and it could look lost ;)

Somebody suggested this (http://www.chocolatetradingco.com/moreinfo.asp?ID=216) but can you imagine trying to get it off your clothes afterwards? :(

Actually Wendy, I think I'll have a look in Morrisons. They have a good 'shiny things' section

Ikea do a type of fruit bowl/cake stand thing, and I think its about a fiver. Sorry, that's a bit vague isn't it?!

T K Maxx at Crystal Peaks or city centre are usually good for household stuff like that.

This has to be the best idea Wendy, seeing as after the "do" they will only be in a cupboard gathering dust.

Strix, if afore mentioned "do" is at a hotel or function room, they should have the bowls already.

Morrisons do a glass rental service, so having a look at the size of the glasses might be a good idea because there might be some that would fit the bill for free.

Also Matalan are good on cheap homey things... I know there is a Matalan about 5 minutes up the Rotheram exit of the Park Square roundabout.

Thanks for your help guys. Talked to the hotel and they've not got anything suitable. I hadn't thought of matalan. I'll have a look in the Ikea brochure and could ask somebody to pick them up for me if I can spot them, but TK Maxx is closest, so I'll probably start there.

There's probably a suitable glass ashtray about somewhere - they tend to come in all shapes and sizes
