View Full Version : Tevez Affair - Here we go again!
boboskins 13-03-2008, 10:10 Blades resurrect Premier fight over Tevez affair (http://www.thestar.co.uk/football/Blades-resurrect-Premier-fight-over.3873552.jp)
Come on most Blades fans must be sick of this by now. Good on them if they get the £20 million it mentions as compo, which is better than nowt especially if it's direct from the Hammers pockets, but this quote from the article is pushing it a bit!
"The Star understands that there is nothing to prevent them demanding their membership of the FAPL is restored." :loopy:
They should just be content with getting some dosh as Premier League membership is never going to be restored in a million years!
*Wallace* 13-03-2008, 10:13 A bit off topic but is Teves the ugliest player ever ?
Yes the blades fans are sick of this- but we don't make the decisions at the club so you can't have a go at us over it.
They bent the rules but got away with it- simple as that.
Ousetunes 13-03-2008, 10:51 We struggle to win a game in the Championship. Restoring us to the Premier League would make us look worse than Derby.
Personally I feel there is a case to be pursued here, but the chances of the FA accepting that they got it wrong? Pah, there's more chance of Arsene or Sir Alex praising the referee for awarding a stone wall penalty at the Emirates or Old Trafford which gave the opposition, who were 'magnificent, totally played us off the park' all three points.
In theory, if it turns out that West Ham did lie to the FA as Joorab--whatsisname is claiming ... then yes, WHU should be expelled from the Premiership retro-actively and SUFC should be restored.
In practice? Don't be so bloody silly. You'd have to expunge nine months' worth of results and reschedule this entire season between now and next July.
The problem is with Joorabchian he is suing WH for £7.2m & he say's things were not done correctly when Tevez was allowed to play for the final 2 games of the season.

Definately

must be close between him and Bullard
beardsley's gotta take it!!!!
What about Dowie surely he has to be the winner.mind our lass say's Downing looks like a kid called david, gayles son in corrie, must admit he does look like him & he has no neck like him as well.

If that was the case, why not one of the other relegated teams that Tevez 'sent down'? Going down was your own doing, not Tevez's. Many blades that I have spoken to about this agree with me.
I agree that the whole Tevez issue was fishy, yet Sheffield United do not deserve to be re-installed to the Premier League.

but sheffield united did'nt deserve to be relegated. we played by the rules west ham did not. its been 1 big cover up. i dont blame you for your bitter views i would say exactly the same if it was wendy. does'nt make it right tho.

Woah, my views maybe a little biased but not bitter.
I just think that Sheffield United need to accept that they weren't good enough for the Premiership last season, and that moaning to the courts and the Premier League about Tevez isn't going to change that.
Wigan played against West Ham with Tevez in the side- yet they somehow managed to stay up!

and we managed to beat west ham 3-0. yer can go on forever picking individual games. the point is west ham would not have got the points without playing tevez. he was like a 1 man team the last 2month of the season. still think it stinks how he got the winner at old trafford to keep west ham up then surprise surprise transferred to man united.
Ousetunes 13-03-2008, 16:04 I just think that Sheffield United need to accept that they weren't good enough for the Premiership last season, and that moaning to the courts and the Premier League about Tevez isn't going to change that.
Sheffield United and their fans accept that on points alone (or a lack of) they deserved to be relegated. That is not the issue. Fans acknowledge that Warnock got a good few decisions wrong, including travelling to other grounds and playing one up front. And further, if you can't beat the likes of Wigan at home you deserve to be relegated.
But let's suggest that it were us, or Wendy or Boro or Wrexham who had Tevez 'on their books', and it was Arsenal, Manchester United or of course, West Ham who were relegated. Would the FA have acted like they did?
Not on your nellie. The FA have, in my opinion, looked after their own and pulled the wool over the eyes of the rest of us. No wonder they want the issue brushed under the carpet and forgotten about, they're going red with embarrassment at their crass 'handling' of it all.
I believe Mr Brooking's influence on the stooges at the FA is stronger than you think: 'Yes, oh yes, Mr Brooking, whatever you want. Go on, protect your West Ham. Shush now, can we go back to sleep?'
Agent Gypo 13-03-2008, 16:19 A bit off topic but is Teves the ugliest player ever ?
No, Luke Chadwick (http://www.sporting-heroes.net/files_football/CHADWICK_L_20010819_NF_R.jpg) is.
briggy1967 13-03-2008, 16:38 Doesnt matter
At the end of the Day the Porkies had it in their own hands, all they had to do was win at home against a VERY poor team who were in the bottom 3 and they bottled it
Play the game on the pitch not in the courts,if they get 20 mill fair enuff, but we all know where it will go

NERVY-OWL 13-03-2008, 19:15 when it happened i do think west ham should of lost points but they didnt and utd couldnt get at least a point against a poor wigan side. at the time, they should of sent west ham down rather than a fine but that was before the new season had started. its ridiculous to want to be reinstated after this season is nearly finished, its just making utd look stupid. if you can get 20mill, then thats great but if the utd board think the fa will reinstate them, theyre in dreamland

i agree its too late for us. but that does'nt mean west ham should get away with it. relegate them this year and send 4 up. and the money the cheats have robbed of us from this seasons premier/sky payments be given to us. brooking sacked currie given his job. pints of watneys red barrell to be replaced with a gallon of magnet in london pubs and greasy chip butties served at upton park instead of jellied eels. and anybody who thinks its funny to dress in pearls to be called what he is ..... a tw*t.

i'd like to bang on brooking's big based drum.

Blades eye Tevez deal
Sheffield United are close to a multimillion pound out-ofcourt settlement from West Ham over the Carlos Tevez affair.
Lawyers are trying to thrash out a deal ahead of an FA arbitration hearing set for next month, People Sport understands.
Sources say the Blades are ready to strike an agreement and there is mounting pressure on the Hammers to settle.
United claim their relegation from the Premier League last season - when Tevez fired West Ham to safety against the rules on third-party ownership - cost them £30million.

jibbs1977 07-06-2008, 11:50 Or maybe they should just realise they didnt score enough goals in the prem hence the real reason they went down. God get over it you wernt even good enough as your dream land guy mcabe presumed to get back up at first attempt I think that just says everything.

Original.
A bit like Wendy's "Premier League Return Ticket" advert of, ooh, many a moon ago.
Wendy would sell their soul for a chairman like McCabe. Oops, they haven't even got one of those anymore.

Then again, the Blades might have scored the goal(s) they needed if they had been treated like ManU regarding penalties not given against them or, on the other hand, for them. :gag:

Plain Talker 07-06-2008, 17:09 A bit off topic but is Teves the ugliest player ever ?
I don't know but I think it's Ronaldinho. Isn't it Ronaldinho who has teeth that could bite an apple through a tennis raquet?
Hello, who woke this thread up again?
I did notice that WHU and Joorabchian have come to an agreement - which, cutting through the legal waffle, basically says that WHU don't owe Joorabchian anything and never did, and in exchange for not owing him anything, he gets to make upwards of £7 million - the amount he claimed he was owed - by "representing WHU in tranfers" or some such rubbish.
Will such a tacit admission that WHU never owned Tevez, and lied to the Premiership about doing so, have any effect after all this time? I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I can't believe I've just read this post!
Do you think for one minute that the stick we Owls get for decisions made by our set of buffoons IS a platform to have a go at Wednesday fans?
If the fans made some of the decisions at Hillsborough, we wouldn't be in the state we're in now!
Ugliest footballer? Quasimodo or Paddy Kenny.

yes it is. at least try and do summet about it car park demonstrations at the lane have worked many times. letting a few black balloons go results in ziltch. like we blades have said many times and will say many more for passion we are differant gravy.

"Shoes off if you want him out"
Youve gotta admit thats THE worst demonstration EVER!!!
Earwiggo 10-06-2008, 16:08 BB, that's all well and good, but if we did demonstrate to sack the board, the decision to sack the board would have to made by the board.......
NERVY-OWL 10-06-2008, 16:24 yea, after all the board going would be a good decision so they wouldnt do it even if they listened.
freyasdad 10-06-2008, 16:53 In that case then the only option is to stop going until change occurs.
What has this to do with the Tevez affair anyway? isn't there another thread for this?
