does anyone know how much it is to hire a small skip by any chance ??????? any sugestions much apreciated of reputable companies and prices

It depends what you are going to put in it. We had some last year, purely for garden rubble, soil etc. Curtis Power in Beighton were the cheapest. £100 for an 8 tonne skip, which was cheaper than what some companies wanted for a small skip. If you are going to put other stuff in, household rubbish, bikes, scrap etc it bumps the price up a bit. It's all to do with landfill tax they have to pay I think. Try ringing a few companies in the Yellow Pages and asking for a quote.

Would a hippo bag be cheaper? ....not that I know where you could hire one. I imagine some places that hire skips will also hire the bags.

We hired a 5 tonne skip for £65 from LJ Skips, they were pretty good, had it for ages as we didn't manage to get the work done straightaway for various reasons,and they were fine about it. 0114 275 0222.
