View Full Version : Daft Question - but...
Mrs H Solo 12-03-2008, 13:16 Excuse me if this has been asked before, but why is that Sheffield United's results are always amongst the last to come in - is it because they always have the most stoppages or is there a bigger satelite delay affecting Sheffield?
Robbie Loving 12-03-2008, 14:46 Because theres always a lot of stoppages I assume?
I never see results come in though to be fair

Not a daft question at all Mrs H.
My son and I were texting back and forth for what seemed like 10 minutes of extra time last night :suspect:
Blades score is almost always last to come in
porthcolmon 12-03-2008, 20:55 It's not a daft question I've often wondered the same thing!
We must have kicked off slightly late last night, probably due to the minutes silence. Colchester scored in 4th minute but we had only just kicked off when the news came through of the goal.

Good point Andy but on livescore it stayed on 90 minutes for what seemed like 10 minutes :huh:
The fact is all your Blades are dopey and live in the twilight zone and cant tell the time.:hihi::hihi::hihi:.
Gingerbarf 12-03-2008, 22:50 there was a delay with last nights kick-off, but in general the blades are one of the last results to come through, with living down here i watch sky sports news a lot to keep an eye on how we are doing and have noticed this to be the case. must be due to stoppages from all the yellow cards Morgan is getting, lol
bladebloke 13-03-2008, 08:56 i believe its a bit like going to a concert and watching all the crap whilst waiting for top of the bill. sports programmes know the country will be waiting to see how uniteds gone on so leave it till last to stop you turning over.
F. Sidebottom 13-03-2008, 10:25 I was going to say that it's because you're dirty cheating so and so's, and the ref spends so long talking to your players about their unproffesional conduct.
But then I realised that can't be true, because a few years ago the blades result came in first one day. About 20 minutes before all the others when you wre playing West Brom at home and lost 2-0. :hihi:

Three-nil. It's not like you to claim the Blades did better than the record books show :hihi:

Technology, eh!
Much more reliable in those old pre-internet days, wasn't it, CB!
Must have been really dramatic when the Sioux used to send you those huge black cloud signals, to tell you that the Blades had just gone 3-0 behind.

Pre internet days was a shortwave radio and 2-4 week old Green Un's that my Uncle (RIP) would roll up and post to me :o
Still remember knocking the radio off the table and breaking the antenna listening to the match live as the Blades won 5-2 at Leicester ..OH HAPPY DAYS :D
Think those huge black cloud signals you were seeing were actually just London smog around your head

Had a bit of that. Upton Park on a February afternoon in the sixties! Luvvvvverly.
I was really fortunate that when I lived in Sheffield, I used to be able to breathe all the lovely fresh air round Bramall Lane, on the many happy times I used to watch cricket there!
Off for bad light? They don't know what it is these days!
Didn't need any factor 12 sunscreen, to watch a day of cricket then!

Haa, haaa, haaa [Tears of laughter]!
The Scottish full time results are almost, if not all in before the English FT appear. Why all matches finish 5 minutes earlier in Scotland I dunnoo.

only have 10 minutes for half time we have 15.
Evening matches are the worst. In the old days it was 7.30 ko 9.10 finish and away.
You're lucky if you manage it to the pub by 10.00 these days !!!!
