View Full Version : So who's the 10,000th user? alchresearch 09-03-2005, 17:53 I've read the press release and related threads but not seen a name. Plus. while we're on the subject, who were the first and 5000th users? I'm guessing Geoff was the first  Sidla 09-03-2005, 18:09 Indeed, Geoff was the first. I was the 6th; at least nobody can accuse me of jumping on the bandwagon! :P According to my calculations (which is probably wrong), the 10000th user was 'witchesbrew'. Strix 09-03-2005, 19:38 If you prod Geoff's 'profile' button, his user ID is 2 and Sidla's is 9  Sony 09-03-2005, 19:45 I was going to ask the very same question! So come on Geoff who is the 10 000th user? raskel 09-03-2005, 21:31 Originally posted by Strix If you prod Geoff's 'profile' button, his user ID is 2 and Sidla's is 9  sorry i cant see the ID numbers? can anyone print me a screen to see it wendy 09-03-2005, 21:38 Originally posted by steelcitybab sorry i cant see the ID numbers? can anyone print me a screen to see it You've just asked the very same question I was going to ask!:D  Where is the ID number in the profile? Strix 09-03-2005, 23:07 just prod the 'profile' button at the bottom of a post and read the address bar  wendy 09-03-2005, 23:12 :D I'd never have thought of looking there! :D vidster 09-03-2005, 23:22 I can not divulge my source but i am pretty sure our 10,000 member is located in the link below. I don't know if by posting the link i am breaking any rules so i'm going to report my own post and ask. You had better be quick peeps! ;) http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/member.php?action=getinfo&userid=10000 Strix 09-03-2005, 23:25 He joined in January, Vidster  That's why I posted ' about Geoff and Sidla's numbers ;) Geoff 09-03-2005, 23:28 You're all wrong so far. The user with the ID 10,000 isn't the 10,000th user. As some previous ones were duplicates and others were removed for never activating their accounts. Also even if we had no duplicates it would be 10,001 as user #1 doesn't exist. I will work it out at some point. In the meantime e-mail me if you want one of this t-shirts, they are very stylish and they are a 'must have' this season ;) cgksheff 09-03-2005, 23:29 ....... and if you look up "witchesbrew", who Sidla suggests is "the one" their ID is 11663! Geoff did explain earlier how hundreds of unused registrations have been culled. edit: OR like the guy just said above! vidster 09-03-2005, 23:29 Originally posted by Geoff You're all wrong so far. SheffieldForum.co.uk For everything Sheffield Embroided (no cheap transfers here!) on to the left breast. I will get someone to model it (I would do it myself, but I'm on an exclusive contract with someone ;) ) and will upload the photo in due course. In the meantime, e-mail me if you are interested so I can get an idea of demand. PS. Use the PM/e-mail system for one-to-one questions :P Strix 09-03-2005, 23:38 But it was a question we all wanted the answer to  Geoff 09-03-2005, 23:42 But I might not have replied if I had something better to do ;) Oh wait, now we really are using this for 1-to-1 :P Strix 09-03-2005, 23:44 Originally posted by Geoff But I might not have replied if I had something better to do ;) Oh wait, now we really are using this for 1-to-1 :P Gotcha!!! :hihi: vidster 10-03-2005, 00:02 Now...Is this a round neck T-shirt or Polo shirt?. I prefer Polo T-shirts myself :suspect: I would have carried on earlier but the 2nd page wouldn't appear for some reason :?. owdlad 10-03-2005, 07:57 Originally posted by Geoff But I might not have replied if I had something better to do ;) Oh wait, now we really are using this for 1-to-1 :P Can you two keep all private conversations to PM's or swap email address :D I've always wanted to be a pedant (no Kirky that's a peasant your thinking of) :P espadrille 10-03-2005, 08:17 I would like to see a T shirt.. Can we see it? DanSumption 10-03-2005, 08:18 Where are the moderators when you need them? ;) scottf 10-03-2005, 10:40 do they win anything? and do they post? ptigga 10-03-2005, 11:05 Originally posted by scottf do they win anything? and do they post? I don't know, but that logo at the top of the page is horrendous. Will it go away when the 10,001 th user registers? Tracie 10-03-2005, 11:13 Geoff posted about this on this here thread : 10,000th User (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31897) Edit : it doesn't say who the 10000th user is, just that Geoff will figure it out at some point in the future :P ANGELUS 10-03-2005, 11:23 Im interested in buying one. But I would like to see some money from the sale going to Comic Relief on friday! Geoff-- Is this possible?? Jamie 10-03-2005, 15:55 Maybe the 10,000th user doesn't want to be identified ... Tracie 10-03-2005, 16:01 Originally posted by Jamie Maybe the 10,000th user doesn't want to be identified ... I was thinking the same - I'm not sure I'd want to be identified if i were the 10,000th user... and I guess Geoff has a responsibility to check with the individual in question before he names them (which may partly explain the delay). cgksheff 10-03-2005, 16:03 Who is going to be the 10,000th person to ask "Who is the 10,000th User?" Sidla 10-03-2005, 17:32 Originally posted by scottf Yet still no answers- come on mods!!! I've said who I think it is, but I don't have full access to the database the way Geoff does. alchresearch 10-03-2005, 19:53 Why don't we all re-register for a laugh! Can you imagine Geoff being interviewed by The Star and saying "Well, erm it was 10,000 on Wendesday, it's now Friday and it's actually 20,000" Sidla 10-03-2005, 20:27 Originally posted by alchresearch Why don't we all re-register for a laugh! I'm very proud of my "Joined February 2003" - it shows I've been here almost from the start! Strix 22-08-2005, 00:16 Does the 10,000th user know they are the 10,000th user  Come on! Tell us who you are!! redrobbo 22-08-2005, 00:22 If we don't get told soon, they'll soon be 20,000 SF registered members. Come on Geoff, you've had long enough to sort it now - spill the beans! :suspect: Tony 22-08-2005, 01:00 Unfortunately, it's just not possible to give a precise answer because the membership numbers move in both directions as we carry out the occasional purge. There was technically a 10,000th registration, but we didn't think that it was fair to call them the 10,000th member at the time. |
