CHAIRBOY 12-03-2008, 10:54 Barnes, Brady, Francis, Platt, O'Leary, Keegan, Bryan Robson, Reid, Spackman, Butch Wilkins, Souness, Eustace, goalie Turner?, Gullitt, best to look at the Sky couch! Agent Gypo 12-03-2008, 11:13 Look no further than the '86 England squad. Treatment 12-03-2008, 11:51 Barnes, Brady, Francis, Platt, O'Leary, Keegan, Bryan Robson, Reid, Spackman, Butch Wilkins, Souness, Eustace, goalie Turner?, Gullitt, best to look at the Sky couch! I'd forgotten about Graeme ( '' it's sometimes harder to play against 10 men '' ) Souness. Good call. CHAIRBOY 12-03-2008, 12:23 Just recalled Bobby Charlton. Chris Waddell - absolutely dreadful at Burnley. Heyesey 12-03-2008, 12:24 Desperately short of defence. Then again, maybe that was the whole problem with them all managing... No, I mean good players. Ray Wilkins never, to the best of my knowledge, actually propelled the ball towards the opposition. There seemed to be a ''force field'' around him which allowed him only to play the ball side ways at the most. JFKvsNixon 12-03-2008, 14:58 Look no further than the '86 England squad. I agree, not one decent manager between them: 1 Shilton • 2 Gary Stevens • 3 Sansom • 4 Hoddle • 5 Martin • 6 Butcher • 7 Bryan Robson • 8 Wilkins • 9 Hateley • 10 Lineker • 11 Waddle • 12 Anderson • 13 Woods • 14 Fenwick • 15 Gary A. Stevens • 16 Reid • 17 Steven • 18 Hodge • 19 Barnes • 20 Beardsley • 21 Dixon • 22 Bailey • CHAIRBOY 12-03-2008, 15:40 No, I mean good players. That '86 list prompts me with a 'banker' I'd forgotten, Terry Butcher. briggy1967 12-03-2008, 17:37 Shilton Pearce Butcher Phil Neal O,Leary Bobby Charlton Bryan Robson Graeme Souness David Platt Chris Waddle (still a God though) John Barnes Cant Believe Treatment opted for Francis in his team,he got us into Europe and 2 Cup Finals in same season!!! And if it wasnt for Carlton Palmer wouldve been there a lot longer Mr Sheffield 12-03-2008, 18:52 I really don`t see how Hoddle is on some peoples lists, he is one of the best recent English England managers! CHAIRBOY 12-03-2008, 18:54 I opted for Francis. Over 12 years in management, never won a thing and had spats with staff at every club he tried to manage. Remember Alan Smith? The 1993 rides were on the back of Atkinson's team and as I've said many times, his problems started when he tried to dismantle Ron's team. Agent Gypo 12-03-2008, 20:35 I really don`t see how Hoddle is on some peoples lists, he is one of the best recent English England managers! But a toal failure at his last two jobs: Spurs and Wolves. And he wasn't that good for England either! Mr Sheffield 12-03-2008, 23:13 But a toal failure at his last two jobs: Spurs and Wolves. And he wasn't that good for England either! He did alright a wolves, only just missed out on the play offs, problem with wolves is that they expect to much of their team! did pretty good for england! His England record- Games-28 W17 L5 D6 Win Percentage 60.71- looks like a good record to me! CHAIRBOY 13-03-2008, 06:02 Desperately short of defence. Then again, maybe that was the whole problem with them all managing... Then I offer you TONY ADAMS, based on his performance with "The Chairboys" at Adams Park! Longcol 13-03-2008, 21:23 Well what about the trio of West Ham 1966 World Cup winners - Bobby Moore - managed Southend - relegated from Div 3 to Div 4 Geoff Hurst - managed Chelsea for 2 years in the old Div 2 before being sacked. Martin Peters - managed the Blades and took them down from Div 3 to Div 4. briggy1967 14-03-2008, 05:20 Well what about the trio of West Ham 1966 World Cup winners - Bobby Moore - managed Southend - relegated from Div 3 to Div 4 Geoff Hurst - managed Chelsea for 2 years in the old Div 2 before being sacked.
