Inter Milan were dire in the first leg, though lets not forget they were a man down early on.

But this game.....there's been no urgency about them at all, even before the sending off. And can Patrick Viera possibly play any worse?

Amazing how a side can be so poor against Barnsley, yet breeze by Inter Milan across two legs.

It's becoming a regular thing really. Liverpool beat the best and it's either Luck, or the other team being so poor.

Oh well, I said all along we had a chance, when others (including Preachermans dad) wrote us off.

I thought Inter Milan would beat you across two legs. But don't kid yourself, they are far from the best side in Europe. Liverpool hardly set the world on fire in the first leg, despite playing against 10 men for most of the game.

I've watched both legs and Inter have been truly awful in both of them. Even as a Liverpool fan you must admit you've had a helping hand from poor refereeing, in both games!

Best side in Europe at the moment? For me, Man Utd and Arsenal are the pick of the teams still in the Champions League:

Chelsea
Liverpool
Man Utd
Shalke
Roma
Barcelona
Fenerbahce

That said, I liked the look of Roma against Real Madrid.

I wouldn't mind drawing you as well, infact I'd rather play you than Inter. Of all the teams that has got through I would rather play you than Arsenal, Man Utd, Barcelona, Roma. In the ideal we would meet you in the final though, remember the final is in Moscow.

I expected more of Inter in the second leg but again, 45 minutes with 10 men and needing 2 (and later 3) goals..... no chance.

You played 180 minutes against a side reduced to 10 men for over 100...

It wasn't a fluke. Liverpool outplayed a very poor Inter Milan side reduced to 10 men, after struggling through the group stage.

If that's true, then it is a fluke. The odds against Inter playing their two worst matches of the season by far, in the two games against Liverpool, are incredibly long.

Were they scared? Does Liverpool's track record in Europe put teams a goal down before they start? Is it just bizarre coincidence? Or are Liverpool actually stopping these teams from playing as well as they usually do?

None, though I'm talking about results from seasons gone by am I? And in case you forgot, last time you played AC Milan they beat you.

Anybody can beat anybody in a two-leg game. Liverpool have been proving that fairly consistently in the last three years. It takes an all-play-all league to show which teams are really the best.

It's not difficult. Domestically, Liverpool are not really challenging the top three as they should be, although their form has picked up remarkably lately. In European competition however, Liverpool have to be considered as one of the best, which is what their record suggests!
