I'm looking for a stable that will do hack as opposed to lessons. Any one have any ideas?
My friends and I have all ridden a bit before and we want to hack out as opposed to sitting in a school for the afternoon.

Priory Royd Farm 0114 2468449 - they just do rides out, great woodland routes. Over Grenoside way...

Can tell they really care about their horses - £15 per hour.

Yep prior royd is good, also Barnes green but there you can only hack out after they see you in the school so they know you are actually capable. Once they know you can go for half or an hour. They have good horses too and both will send someone to accompany you.

Both in grenoside, one is round the back of town, sort of, the other is on the main road, with an 86 bus stop outside. The numbers are in the phone book. sorry don't have them to hand.

Don't think anyone else does hired hacking in this area, and it IS really lovely country. There is a previous thread which covers the western city and peaks area not that old, so if you look back in this section you should find it.

I've been going for lessons at Mallard Farm Riding School - I think they offer hacks at the weekends. I noticed that they are offering a two hour hack this Good Friday if you're interested,
