ReginaldD 10-03-2008, 10:11 Derek Dooley's funeral will be held next week, his family confirmed today. A service will be held at Sheffield Cathedral (C of E)next Friday at 10.45am. Full details will be announced shortly but it has been confirmed that the service will be held at the Cathedral in Church Street at 10.45am on Friday 14th March. It is expected that scores of representatives from the world of football will attend and pay their respects to a man who widely recognised as a gentleman of the game. The Bishop of Sheffield, the Rt Rev Jack Nicholls is expected to conduct proceedings which will be followed by a private service and cremation at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium. Tributes have been pouring in for Derek, the 78-year-old former Sheffield United chairman. Both Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday have opened books of condolence and Derek's widow Sylvia has been overwhelmed with messages of support |
