Hi,

If you are looking for paid part time work, and have skills such as graphic design, web design, programming, marketing, writing etc. and are based in the UK then a new site launched could be for you. Student particularly may want to expand their portfolio for example, why not make a bit of extra money?

Or perhaps you are a webmaster, project manager or recruiter looking to connect with UK freelancers, to find people to employ, marketers to launch an affiliate program why not post your project for free and connect with talented UK freelancers?

The site has many opportunities for freelancers (i.e. work at home) and webmasters/project managers/recruiters. Especially ideal for students looking to expand their portfolio.

If you are interested and the above appeals to you, feel free to register for your free account @ www.freelancexchange.co.uk - you will receive £2.50 with every sign-up. The site aims to be the premier resource for freelancers looking to expand their income, and project managers looking to expand their audience for projects.

I am not trying to spam this forum, as it is a UK based freelance marketplace, and this site has many work requests/programmer requests I feel this particular site may appeal.

Thanks
Dan

So how do you plan to market / promote this website so potential employers see it (apart from using Sheffield Forum). I'd be interested as you say you hope it will become the UK's number one source of work.

Hi sdiddy,

Thank you for your interest.

As I believe I said above the site is undergoing marketing, and obviously needs a good deal of marketing to get the site to similair status as the American equivalents. As the site is less than a month old, it is easy to see why the marketing needs to help to get this site established. As I'm sure you'll appreciate I dont really want to write down the full extent of what will be done on a public forum, but if you would like more information you can e-mail me through the site.

I believe the major UK search engines will eventually provide the main bulk of traffic, the keywords and submissions have already been evaluated, so hopefully the site will get a good ranking as it has to an extent been SEO'd. Additional content and planned further development should help on this front also.

I am looking into advertising - such as affiliate programs, google adwords etc. plus banner exchanges. This will all be targeted in an attempt to further draw in members.

Also posts have been made on the target forums, and major UK forums have been contacted with some choosing to inform their members.

I feel the site definately has potential, and it would be foolish to envision the site suddenly being the major source of work overnight, but rest assured the marketing is being taken seriously, and I feel due to the sites nature once a certain point is reached, word of mouth and search engines should provide the projects. As Im sure you are aware being a freelancer yourself there is demand for both parties.

We are currently recieving sign-ups at a rate of 1-2 a day, it is important to ensure the projects get posted for freelancers, and hopefully this will happen.

As I said above, If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me through the site, the site will continue to develop with extra features planned. Hopefully everyones experience of the site will be a good one.

Thanks again
Dan

Thanks Dan

I'm actually an employer not a freelancer so would be interested in using the website to recruit once it gets going.

Hi,

Yep thats fine, you can have an account for a freelancer and project manager.

I will be preparing newsletters shortly so you can keep imformed of the site's news, and if you want to use it at anytime you can.

I will be adding a jobs classifieds section in the coming weeks also - this may be ideal as this is generating interest in the freelance community.

Thanks
Dan
