To commence 29th March 08
Is you child over weight? and lacking low self-esteem and no confidence?
Would you like to change your Childs way of thinking around food and exercise?
Sheffield Obesity Epidemic:
It was reported that one in four children aged 10 to 11 are clinically obese or overweight in Sheffield, and that the rate of obesity increases as children move through primary school according to new government figures.
What are its effects?
These include problems with the joints and bones (such as slipped femoral epiphysis and bow legs), a condition called benign intracranial hypertension that produces headaches and affects vision, hypoventilation (leading to drowsiness during the day, snoring and even heart failure), gall bladder disease, polycystic ovary syndrome, high blood pressure, high levels of blood fats and diabetes.
There are also marked psychological effects leading to low self-esteem.
Who's affected?
More and more children in the UK are becoming obese - it's been described as a modern epidemic. Around 27 per cent of children are now overweight and research suggests the main problem is a continual reduction in the amount of exercise children take. Many overweight children have overweight parents - it's often a matter of family lifestyle.
If you would like to help change your Childs life for the better, then bring them along to my class. Saturday’s 10am – 12 noon. Cost is £5, fresh fruit and water will be supplied. Eating plans will be supplied as will fun activities, such as boxing, circuit training, skipping, and advise on nutrition to help change your Childs way of thinking around food. Call or email now as there are limited places available. Run by fully qualified Sports Coaches fully CRB cleared and first aid trained.
