I do a club night which I'm turning into a private members club and I want to set up a system where I can text everybody on my mailing list with updates and running order ect
I have no idea about mobile phones and i think I have sent 1 text message in my life so any help greatfully received. I have been told that there are places on the web that let you do this but from what i can tell I would have to send out each text one at a time rather that doing it as a group text.

If you have an Orange phone I believe they have been trialling this for their business customers, may be worth giving them a call.
Alternatively, our work uses www.2sms.com to do exactly this. There's all kinds of funky reporting features you can do too, but the nub of it is that you can send out SMS's to predefined groups with a couple of clicks. Don't know how much we pay for it though...

down at reflex they have a system where they send 2000 text messages in one go....it costs 4p per text,i'm sure if you nip in martin will put you intouch with the company that does it.

I'm looking at about 400 a month.
