I guess it's just like anything else you purchase on eBay; check the sellers feedback, ask questions, and if in doubt don't bid! Good luck! K x deelightful3 08-03-2005, 13:41 thanx kristian i gather most of them are copies is that right?,they are very cheap . Kristian 08-03-2005, 13:44 I'm no expert, but I wouldn't have thought there were many copies around? Clearly there are loads for Xbox or Playstation etc because they use a normal disk, but Gameboy Advance use little custom-fit cartridges. K x Elphi 24 08-03-2005, 13:46 i got my daughter one - one third of the price - came from dubai boxed and in perfect working order! deelightful3 08-03-2005, 13:47 i think i will risk sending for one for his birthday, keep ur fingers crossed for him, cheers for the q deelightful3 08-03-2005, 13:48 oops, pressed to send to quick, was going to say thanx for the quick respone kristian deelightful3 08-03-2005, 13:49 redhotjo u just made my mind up 4 me,how long did it take to get to u? They may be manufactured by pirate outfits in the east, who will create 1000's of GBA carts to sell on the black market. slh73 08-03-2005, 16:57 Depends where the seller is located. Most of the sellers from the UK are fine, but there are a lot in china and hong kong that are selling copies. You can tell if a games a fake by looking at the screw holding the cartridge together. If its got a funny looking y shaped slot in the head, its genuine. If its just a standard phillips head screw, its fake. Kristian 08-03-2005, 18:11 Just checked, and all my games are genuine; really didn't realise they counterfeited games like that. K x G18241 17-07-2005, 19:58 just searched for GBA and this thread came up you can get copied GBA games, these catridges you can buy abroad with 50 games in for example ;) most of the games on ebay are from the east, and all come in perfect condition, the only difference being the packaging may be different from what is given in the UK :) pinlock 17-07-2005, 21:47 I also purchased a gameboy game from fleabay... It was delivered pretty quick... However, my son pointed out that the game would not 'auto save', meaning you have to start from the beginning every time you play. I would still buy again. Elphi 24 18-07-2005, 11:53 hiya - mine came within a week or so! Jamie 18-07-2005, 13:14 Originally posted by pinlock However, my son pointed out that the game would not 'auto save', meaning you have to start from the beginning every time you play. This could mean 2 things: 1) The developers of this game did not code any functionality to save game. 2) It's not an original game cart. When games developers send off their product, through the correct channels (Nintendo) for duplication, they have to pay extra to have special carts that will save games. There are about 4 different types and also different capacities of save game carts, costs vary but having no save game functionality will bring down cost of duplication. Obviously, the pirates are not going through official channels to produce their carts, but it would still cost them more to produce carts that save. pinlock 18-07-2005, 16:06 Jamie, I think you are right. Looking at one game I purchased here from toys r us, i can see differences in the cartridge. |
