I cant recommend Paddy Orange highly enough, the lad's got great rhymes, and the tunes are interesting and imaginitive, and sophie's voice is top notch too. All in all, well worth a trip out.

also *ahem* coming soon, the Koenig is finally going to hit the live stage, we've procrastinated long enough, more details coming soon!

Come and see Redroom at Plug, I think it's in 2 weeks time. It will be one of their first gigs in Sheffield as a new 3 piece and they are very good.
It's only a fiver...

If you want listings and up to date news of what bands are playing from yorkshire, 'The Sandman, The Fly, and Exposure' are all excellent sources and give great reviews on local music acts.:)

Best thing to do is join Sheffield gig goers on myspace and facebook. Links to all the pages you could possibly shake a stick at are all on there and Jen keeps the local gigs up to date.

I go to loads of gigs around Sheff and my fave local bands would have to be :

Alveraz Kings
The Dodgems
The Headliners
Avangaad

All really good bands. I know Dodgems have already been signed. I reckon the other 3 should be too! x

There's a very good (Rotherham based) band called Henrys Carpet Skip I've seen a few times at the Boardwalk.

Their lead guitarist is a Sheffield Forummer > MrBenn

and their myspace is >> http://www.myspace.com/carpetskip :D

Listened to some of their stuff on my space yesterday. I've not heard of them before but i was really impressed. Is Boothy the infamous one from the Little man tate song?

Anyone seen Jackson Caged?

I would recommend them, but that'd be biased since the bassist and guitarist are good mates of mine. :P
