I have tonight (7th March)checked the vosa web site and First have not registered any changes to services on the latest published list as at 4th March. If First intend to go ahead with the April 25th date it with have to register them by the next issue due out on the 17th March as 42days notice has to be given on any service changes can go ahead. I think its more than likely most of the proposed cuts will go ahead on the commercial services. The services on the axe list indicated with a * which already are supported with PTE funds may be spared the axed or joined up with other services. It a case of watch this space. The current updated list from First is on Its web site not the PTE's.

from a person who works for firstgroup i can tell you that the most probable reason for the changes are due to vandalism to buses ie- youngsters throwing bricks/rocks through the windows regardless of passengers.it is costing the company more in repairs ie-1 window can cost upto £2000.the only other alternative i can suggest is that after 7.o clock all buses stop going through the estates & stick to the main roads, these new double deckers on the 41 route are not 6 months old yet & they are in a terrible state (slashed seats, scratched windows, broken camera's,burned seat backs, holes in the ceilings caused by punching etc)

Correct exactly what I have said on another thread the company just cant sustain this damage to its vehicles night after night.

An evening service introduced on route 33 should please someone!
The changes to the 31 are interesting, it would make the first bus of the day 8pm!
Nether Edge loses it's buses after 9pm, so everyone having a night out will require a taxi - or walk from Abbeydale Road.
And Stocksbridge is reduced to a skeleton service in the evening.
69 Sheffield-Attercliffe-Magna-Rotherham is completely withdrawn on a Sunday.

My guess is that service 31 journeys will become 32's which cover most of the same route or it will become an hourly service it depends what the tender agreement is with the PTE as I underststand the section of 32 journeys around Netherthorpe and daytime upto Foxhill are PTE funded. With Stocksbridge that will be hardship and should be funded.A stronger case for the railway plan by Don Valley Railway Team.
The strange one to me is taking out one single journey on the 80 route at 2030
