The title says it all.
Asda at Handsworth have a little pop up tent thing today and tomorrow (7th & 8th March) where there's a chap doing windscreen repairs absolutely free.
You must have full comprehensive insurance with almost any company except Direct Line. There's a list on site.
You need to fill in a form after which states satisfaction and gives insurance co details so that the company claim the money back.
I had mine done, nice chap, very helpful and I feel much more confident about my windscreen not cracking now.
Go and see him, get your car done and get him a cuppa from the cafe, it's freezing out there! :)

I saw them there today, but don't have any stone chips at the mo!

If you can't find the mobile guy, the same service is provided by all the national windscreen franchises e.g. Autoglass.

A guy came to where I work to fix a colleagues, so I asked him to look at mine.

Now where the stone hit the windscreen it seems to have rolled and put 3 tiny chips alltogether. The whole chip is less than a couple of mill. This means that they can't fix it. So its another windscreen for me.

Fully comp insurance does mean that if it can't be fixed than I only have to pay £50 for a new one.



History of current car and windscreens.
Bought about 2 1/2 years ago has accident damaged. Looks like kids had been throwing stones at windsceen while it had been stood so had it replaced.
within 6 months a mate spotted a chip in it (don't know how long it had been there). Got one of the one man, bodgit and scarper types to repair and he made a balls up of it. He must have known because without looking at it ( I was in work) I offered to pay him and he stated he would nip back in a couple of days to "clean it up". Never saw him again. Took it to the RAC winscreen place and they had to replace due to the bodge.
A few weeks ago got another chip. Was driving down the M1 and saw the stone as it was launched by a truck but had no where to go.

These guys are currently at Drakehouse Retail Park outside Focus DIY.

I picked up a stone chip a few weeks ago in Bakewell but hadn't got around to doing anything about it.

Really convenient - they just did it whilst I was shopping and have done a very good job!

There was a bloke in Morrisons in Staveley doing the same job this afternoon.

if you ring rac auto windscreens, they will come out during office hours to repair it free of charge if you are fully comp':)
