I hardly did any knitting in Feb with one thing and another. I'd started my sock but not got past the cuff yet. I got some metal dpn's but found they are far to slippy for me, so ended up getting some bamboo ones, which are much better for me.

I've got some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket and I would like to get some knitting stuff. I haven't taken my sock out to work on, because I'm so scared of snapping the delicate looking bamboo dpn's. I want a hard case or something to put them in and wondered how you sock knitters store your current wip for on the move for some ideas.

ooh one of those knitting tube things - I don't have one but they are a really good idea.

You'll have to wait for someone who knows what I'm talking about to tell you what they are called as I have no idea :hihi:

Do you mean a knitzi? Try www.knitzi.com - they are things of beauty and jolly useful too!

I ram my sock in progress in my handbag with all the other junk (small toys, crayons) but then I use metal needles.

Mine gets put in a ziplock placcy bag - never ever had a needle break:blush: Actually I have ziplock bags of all sorts of sizes so I can keep projects separate:)

Thanks everyone. I love the knitz and I might think about one next time. I would love to just stick it in my bag as it is and not worry about them breaking, but my bag already contains all my little one's nappy changing stuff which is usually rammed back into my bag to make it fit. I'm going to get the ones mgknit pointed out and then I have more money for yarn :hihi:

Thanks Plain Talker, I've just ordered one. Felt reassured about it after reading your review of them.
