If you’re interested in writing or have written a book on a local topic please get in touch to discuss - if we like it we’ll publish it.

My Robin Hood book might be no good then, except it isn't fiction. See here

O.K. I see you are at Walkley and I’m at Crookes, I must drive within a few hundred yards of your place most days! I’m off work the last two weeks in March so I may call in, except I realise now you are “vanity” publishers and that’s not my thing. Still, I’ll see.

Thanks,

Graham.

Most our books are normal publishing that is we pay for the printing and publicity and distribution and you get paid per book sold.

We also do vanity publishing for people wanting to publish their memoirs etc...

I think you looked at the "Producing a Book to Sell Yourself " rather than "Authors" paragraph on the website: www.dspad.co.uk/publishing.htm

Perhaps I did. I am sorry about that and thanks for clearing it up. I'll pop in and have a chat when I'm on holiday from work.

Thanks,

Graham.

Roger Redfern, theres a name that rings a very big bell with me. Doesn’t he write (among other things) in the Peak District Magazine?

I think I have one or two books by him, I will have to check, he is a writer of the highest calibre and he knows the Peak District like no one else, I seem to remember he is an excellent photographer as well and I think I have a book of photographs taken by him? I wish I knew him but I’m afraid I have never had the pleasure of meeting him; I must be one of his biggest fans.

Give him my regards

Thanks

Graham.

i once published a book of poems about kelvin flats, written with a couple of other ex-tenants...sold 100 in four weeks which isn't bad, especially for a poetry book.

been looking to do another kelvin or high rises in sheffield book for a while, as i lived on kelvin, hyde park and park hill for ten years.

i've done my biog, and the story of one of my failed punk bands!

but i think the sheffield book would be of more interest.

some of my photos of kelvin/ hyde park/ park hill:
