View Full Version : Good Mexican restaurants in sheffield popestar 07-03-2005, 12:18 I need some help on what mexican restaurants there are in sheffield. Want somewhere i could take my lady so has to be nice surroundings etc. ZIPPYZ 07-03-2005, 13:40 Que Tal? On West street is Mexican, Spanish and Italian. I love it there. The food is gorgeous and the atmosphere is great. I go about once a month and never get bored of it, there is so much choice. I'd highly recommend it for you and your girlfriend. popestar 07-03-2005, 13:46 Cheers mate i will give it a go. Murph 07-03-2005, 13:58 I like Las Iguanas at West One as well. popestar 07-03-2005, 14:20 thanks for the posts. has anyone been to both Que Tal and Las iguanas so could compare them for me. Is Las iguanas just mexican food? what are the prices like at both? sorry is this too much info to ask for? mjlacey21 07-03-2005, 15:45 Las Iguanas is more expensive and the portions aren't huge but in my opinion it is a much better quality restaurant than que tal. It's not that expensive either - expect a meal with drinks to be about £20/25 a head maybe? popestar 09-03-2005, 11:08 cheers for all your advice - Las iguanos it is for me must say only lived in sheffield two years and this forum has been a godsend - thank you all ZIPPYZ 10-03-2005, 14:37 I personally prefer Que Tal, but each to their own. I think Que Tal is more intimate and romantic. I cant fault the food at all, its gorgeous. The seafood dishes are absolutely gorgeous and my boyfriend think the steaks are the best hes ever had (and his Dad is a butcher!) Where ever you choose, have a good night. Zip. popestar 10-03-2005, 14:54 cheers zippy and with the info about the steaks i am undecided now - saying that they will have to go a long way to beat Rossi's (definately my best steak in sheffield so far) after i have gone i will let you know what i think. Is this place not closed down?? steven 24-03-2005, 09:40 Viva Tequila is still open and is still the best restaurant in Sheffield (as voted by the people of Sheffield, 2003). Last year we had a brief spell of being called Mambo (for one reason or another), but changed back to Viva Tequila the middle of last year. Still a great atmosphere and the food is still fantastic, even though I say so myself. steven 24-03-2005, 09:41 Try www.vivatequila.co.uk medicgirl 24-03-2005, 13:21 I agree about Las Iguanas, I think it's really classy but it is a bit more expensive. Great cocktails as well as food... mark1971 27-03-2005, 14:08 Originally posted by steven Try www.vivatequila.co.uk cheers for that steven i might go along & sample their food, looks a good night out.
