Hiya i would like some advice, one of my girls as starting eating stones and licking the wall, she has had a litter of puppies nearly 4 weeks ago, does anyone no why. I am giving her calcium tablets daily.

I don't know why but please be very careful (I know that sounds daft as you already are) we recently had to operate on a lab that had eaten a stone and it had blocked his gut. :(

oh god i stop her all time, but wondering why she does it, she has only recently started doing it.

If it's not a behavioural problem then it is usually down to them having some form of dietary deficiency or lack of certain minerals, which may be the case with her only just having pups. It can cause bloat though, so best to get her checked over at the vets if you can asap

My Nan had a Jack russell who started eating stones as a pup. He had to be operated on 3 times and eventually wear a muzzle in the garden. It turned out to be behavioural due to boredom my mum took him and as soon as he was stimulated in the garden and not left to his own devices he stopped. Not sure that helps you though sorry
