View Full Version : Willow is out and about!!!
keiran006 03-03-2008, 14:02 Anyone know how to entice an escaped Ball Python back home?
Moved into a new house on Thursday, fed him a rat, which he turned his nose up at. Put him down some fresh water, went to bed, woke up and he's gone.
Checked all the radiators, backs of fridges/freezers, behind tellys, in all dirty washing. Anywhere that might be warm.
I've left his tank open in case he gets cold and wants to get back in. He has fresh water on the other side of the room.
Don't know what else to do or where else to look. Would he have gone down the cellar? And can snakes climb stairs? :help::(
... And can snakes climb stairs? :help::( That would have made a great title for this thread :D
Sorry I don't know anything about snake hunting :(
I hope he comes back soon :?
dont suppose he's snuck under the sofa, in the lining? Hope he turns up soon

Unfortunately not... We've had all the sofas on their sides, and couldn't hear any noise... Thanks though.

THERE'S A SNAKE ON THE LOOSE - DON'T PANIC. DON'T PANIC, THERE'S A SNAKE ON THE LOOSE.
keiran006 03-03-2008, 14:58 Yeah that's what all my housemates said too. There's a bounty out on his head... I really hope he doesn't take anyone by surprise, cos he'll feel a size 10 hit his head if he does, noone likes him except me... :(
slimsid2000 03-03-2008, 15:04 Which area of Sheffield is this in please?
keiran006 03-03-2008, 15:08 Ecclesall... Just past Hunters Bar... Why?
He's probably just laying dead in the cellar isn't he?

Because people in that area need to be aware that he is loose. For example people need to keep their cats inside.
keiran006 03-03-2008, 15:12 Not at all... He struggles with the small rats I feed him, people's pets are more than safe.
we had a python 6 ft long which went missing . 5 weeks later we came home one day and it had wriggled up the pole of the parakete cage , opened the cage somehow. and just started on the parakete , i managed to get it away from the snake and massaged it's heart for a couple of hours giving it the odd eye drop of milk and whisky, i finally got it on it's perch looking fine , then all of a sudden it looked over to the snake tank and dropped off the perch stone dead , i still don't know if it died of fright or alcoholic poisening.... i then decided to let the snake have it but it wasn't interested because it was dead . the snake must have been hiding in the central heating somewhere , he'd only gone out to look for a bird. :D:D:D:D
keiran006 03-03-2008, 15:55 Hahaha...
Unfortunately we don't have any other pets to entice him... I'm gonna put a new rat in the tank and leave it open. Hopefully the smell of it will bring him back.
I'm just so scared he's got stuck under something or fallen off something and hurt himself... I've seen a snake die before and it's not nice at all...
fox20thc 03-03-2008, 15:57 Where's Carpetviper when you need him ? I'm sure he'd have some suggestions for you.
don't we already have a couple of missing snake threads with helpful suggestions on them?
Great now I'm going to have nightmares about a snake killing me!
Hope you manage to get him back soon, I feel sorry for your housemates!
keiran006 04-03-2008, 08:04 Willow is the most docile, beautiful animal, he wouldn't harm anyone... I miss him... :(

Simple answer - yes they can
keiran006 04-03-2008, 08:43 Simple answer - yes they can
Bugger.... :|
That opens up a whole new world of searching... :help:
In reply to the scared lady, there truly is nothing to worry about apart from him being hurt. He wouldn't attack anyone. He is calm, docile, loving, doesn't snap, bite, hiss. He's a dude... I want him back... :(
Lindseyw 04-03-2008, 08:50 PM CarpetViper, he's great with stuff like this.
I really hope you find him :(
keiran006 04-03-2008, 09:01 Thanks luv, just PMd CarpetViper, let's see what he says...
keiran006 05-03-2008, 09:04 Aboslutely ripped the cellar apart last night. No sign of him in there. I've laid plastic bags around the outside of the rooms, flour in every doorway, a fresh rat ON a plastic bag near his tank and fresh water on the other side of the room. Still no sign at all. Missing him very much now and fearing the worst. There's so many holes in the walls and cielings he could be anywhere.:confused::confused:
pinklady 05-03-2008, 09:11 Dead rats laying around AND a snake on the loose .... your house is just a babe magnet isnt it?
I do empathise with you tho, I bet your worried sick, in the link theres tips on getting snakes back, take a look, not sure if its any good.

keiran006 05-03-2008, 09:20 I know... What a sex-pad we live in hey? :P
To be fair though, when the snake isn't roaming free, he is quite a sexy animal to watch.
I dunno, maybe I'm just weird, but he is MY pet, and I want him back so much. :(

errr whereabouts at Hunters Bar...? Hope he turns up soon - sounds as if they can shift a bit and can be survive for quite some time without food. If the heating's on he's probably tucked up somewhere - is there an airing cupboard?
