Just lately my Sky+ box has developed a habit of changing the aspect of the picture from widescreen to 4:3 which ends up chopping the banner so I miss a lot of the info then it decides to swap back again. Have checked the setting on the TV and Sky+ box and both are showing widescreen.

Any ideas?

services --> system setup --> picture settings

Change picture format to 4:3 or 16:9 if you have widescreen

Sorted!

Been there done that - not sorted.

This is an intermittent problem that occurs on its own so I'm wondering if its a problem with the tv or sky+ box (god I hope not)

in that case its your TV !

my TV does this when set to auto - so i now leave const in full mode - works a treat :D

Are you noticing it on one particular channel? I've noticed that BBC channels continue to be quite bad. It's as if halfway through the program someone realises they've not hit the right button and it suddenly changes to the correct ratio.

Sounds like it is your Tv not Sky box, it will be probably set to smart which trys to detect aspect ratio, try to force TV to a set picture.
