Anyone else seen the crash on the parkway this afternoon?

The crash was approx 430, going out of city just past the bingo hall, with just one car involved.

When I drive past the car looked as though it had hit the trees at high speed and the driver was trapped inside (no emergency vehicles onsite at this point)

I must admit it turned my stomach over - and travelled the rest of the stretch @ 40mph.

I hope the driver is ok.

At approx 5.30 we joined the Parkway which was backed up with traffic to the Pk Sq roundabout and overtaken by an emergency vehicle. Had to leave at the first left turn.
If your time is accurate and ours is - how long was the chap there without help?
All traffic cleared again by the time we returned around 6.50.
Hope everyone was ok.

So the bloke was trapped in his car for 1hr without assistance?
****n unbelievable!

Did anyone not think of stopping to help the guy out?
He could be dying for god sake.

Well Gazza didn't!!! Although he could have been on the other side of the road.

You would hope that anyone with a conscience would have stopped even if it was just to reassure him.

This unfortunate chap seems to have lost control, skidded through the barrier and across the other side ending up in shrubbery. lucky nobody else hit him on the other side, no news of his injuries though, hope he will be ok.:o

So if this happened at 4:30-5, if the traffic was backed up at 5:30 i think it's safe to assume that there already were police on the scene, for one thing, stopping the traffic! Also, just because someone saw an emergency vehicle in the area at 5:30 doesn't mean it was the first on the scene or even that it was going to the same place.

When I went home last night the police had closed the Parkway for the accident investigators. Traffic was being stopped and was backing on to the Park Square roundabout and on to the Wicker via Cutlers' Gate. I think this was nearer 6:00 p.m.

We went past about 5.30 and there must have been 15 emergency vehicles of various types. Never seen an incident that big in terms of that. hope the guy was ok.

Unless he was a joyrider (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?postid=320369#post320369) of course rooby_roo? If he was I guess he had it coming to him?

I hope whoever it was had luck on his side!

Would you agree with me if I said that sarcasm / irony is often lost on people of lower intelligence?

In case anyone else missed my point, I was (of course) not suggesting this victim is a joyrider.

Hope whoever was involved is okay!
