Has anyone noticed a sudden increase in graffiti around Norton Lees (warminster Road and Norton Lees road especially) Has anybody actually caught anyone in the act, or know who's responsible? If so i'd love to know. My husband works for the police and even though there's always been Graffiti we just can't believe how bad its got recently!!:rant:

I know what you mean, it is starting to look quite scruffy. My street sign keeps being vandalised and I have been living on "cockhead" place for last 2 months until Streetforce finally replaced it this week.

The bright green stuff all over the bus stop? Its the same in Meersbrook too.

Little ***** should be made to scrub it off with their toothbrush.

I'm keeping a lookout. If I see anyone doing it, the first they'll know about it is my baseball bat knocking their heads off. Wouldn't be the first either.

If it is the usual atypical hooligan, I doubt they own a toothbrush never mind use one.

Not noticed an increase in graffiti but a small group of young scroates pulled up the metal black and white bollard at the bottom Lees Hall Ave on Thursday evening before going across the road, trying to set a wheelie bin on fire and pushing it down someones back garden.

I kept my eye on them and went out before they waved at me and ran off, i would have loved to have taken a baseball bat to a few of them but no doubt their parents would have taken offence to me treating their 'little angels' like this.

In all fairness though the kids around here are harmless and most of them are right enough who might hang around but are no trouble at all.

The problem now is the first lot of graffitti has now attracted more:( Its gone from two squiggles, well thats what they look like to me, to 14 in a week grrrrrrr

On derbyshire lane near the Cross pub i saw this guy on a BMX with a hoody over his head acting weird next to the bus stop.

Now either he was taking a leek against the bus stop or doing the graffitti!

So yeah, He's about 5ft 7 / 8 possibly 5ft 9, rides about on a BMX, always has his hood up with a baseball cap under neath and carries a back pack!!! Quite surprisingly he was on his own and not in a gang!

Should have got the air rifle out and shot the Chav!

Your best bet is report it to 101 if you can get some photos let your local councillor and area panel know that way they know what is going on and can monitor situation . You will remember there was a large number of incidents in the woodseats area last october .

Bus stop opposite mitchells (Now the wine shop or sumthin like that) on derbyshire lane gets smashed all the time, now they have plastic windows, the phone box at the end of my road norton lees crescent gets smashed now and then!


i remember ages ago there was a thread about a community house or sumthin near Newfield school, They caused trouble outside the co op all the time so they had to get a security guard for a while?

Not sure if they have anything to do with the vandalism?

Christ when i was there age (Not that long ago) i was playing footy in graves park, snooker in snooker halls, going to mates house and even attempting to go down town? why the **** would you want to walk about streets with a bloody hood on!

But seriously id paste anyone id see doing it! Its me area where i live in and am proud of so why should they have the freedom to do what ever they like, to what ever they like?

I've just phoned re Virgin re the box near us, it's so grafittied on you can hardly see the green paint underneath. I've watched it get worse each week, also the road signs the kids just spray on those too, what do they get out of this, I don't think it's 'tagging' what is it with them they can't leave them alone :loopy:

I know who your on about,and you may be surprised to find out there a lot older than you think.funny how everyone immediately thinks "14 year old chav" when they hear the word graffiti,trust me,this is not the case.

hi i live on warminster road,and i have noticed over the last year that we have had a lot more disruption then normal around the area,but i do understand that we have a kids home down on harvey clough road,so say no more,trouble brings trouble

We've been fighting a losing battle against snow spray (it really gets into the brickwork!) and permanent pens recently. I'd love to have to time to spray them with cold water when in the act, but I sadly have a life and a job to pay the mortgage on the house they are desecrating!

yeah it's a 'halfway house' for rehabilitating young offenders or something. Bottom of Harvey Clough Road. The people running it have leased it from the owner, who ought to call round and see the mess they're making of it and its surrounding garden and outbuildings.

They make a hell of a lot of noise - loud speed garage/hard house, screaming arguments with really foul language. They've been known to lob things at passers-by, from upstairs windows, and are verbally aggressive to anyone who speaks to them.

Dunno if they've caused any serious trouble, or if it's just hearsay.

Well done sherlock, you've just narrowed it down to half the teenagers in Britain - plus you are unsure if he committed a crime. I reckon we'll have to halt the on going murder investigations and throw more resources at this one.:rolleyes:
