View Full Version : Sky remote (can you help ???) ladyovmanor 05-03-2005, 14:54 Hi we just treated ourselfs to a new tv and just wondered if anyone knows how to get a sky remote to work on it any clues! Please help its driving me crazy using to controls .. ANGELUS 05-03-2005, 19:31 I think there is summat in the sky manual on how to get your sky remote to work with your TV. If it dont work from the manual, it wont work on your TV unfortunately. wendy 05-03-2005, 19:36 Originally posted by ANGELUS I think there is summat in the sky manual on how to get your sky remote to work with your TV. Our TV isn't in the manual but I gave the customer Service a ring and they put me through to the technical services and they gave me the correct code for it and it works fine with it. Manuals tend to be correct at the time of going to print but as new tvs are introduced they have to introduce new codes and it would be a waste of money to send these out to everyone. Give customer Services a ring they will help. cgksheff 05-03-2005, 19:39 Step One. Are you a SKY TV subscriber? wendy 05-03-2005, 20:38 Originally posted by cgksheff Step One. Are you a SKY TV subscriber? I would have thought that was obvious otherwise they wouldn't have the remote would they! Talk about stupid answer! chillicat 05-03-2005, 22:05 Originally posted by Bourne http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/satellite/remote/ This worked spot on for me. HotPhil 06-03-2005, 10:12 Press the Interactive button and follow the steps to get your remote set up for new TV. In defence of CGKSHEFF you do not need to be a SKY subscriber to use a sky remote, if you put the correct TV code in it will work on any TV and you can buy them for £11-00 on ebay. I have a sky digital box and remote and do not subscribe to sky (anymore). Canceling the subscription and going freeview is the best thing we have ever done. We can still watch loads of programs using the sky box with the added benefit of having a life again. :) D_A_V 06-03-2005, 12:11 Originally posted by Lostrider In defence of CGKSHEFF you do not need to be a SKY subscriber to use a sky remote, if you put the correct TV code in it will work on any TV and you can buy them for £11-00 on ebay. People quite often ring me up and say things like my telly isnt working or my computer isnt working can you help (I seem to be a natural helpline). First thing I always ask them is it plugged in. They usually laugh at me and say what a stupid question. I ask them to check and in 90% of cases they come back to phone and say ok, I think thats solved it. |
