Hi,
I'm looking for information (mainly cost, food and drink) on Dubai. Are there "down to earth" people there? What is the night life like? If anyone has been there, please share your experiences.
My mum is going on honeymoon there and people have said it is expensive and is now worried..

One of my ex girlfriends moved away to Dubai in the UAE
Her Dad works for Bp over there. Its very expensive. You only need to take a glance at the skyline there to see that. Its all the money from the oil which they have pumped back into the economy. I think a return flight costs around £600 for one person. :?

Not true, there are lots of places to drink in Dubai (large Ex-pat community there) - where else do you think the rest of the Arabs go when they want a tipple! (no, not London - well not always!)
