Anyone know anything about this? I drove past the fair opposite Hillsborough a few times from about 3.30am last night and there were at least 4 cars outside and looked like they were taping it off.

An alledged race attack by a gang at the Penistone road fais opposite the Wednesday ground has led to a murder investigation by police.

Two people are being questioned by police, and they are asking other member to come forward,like that's going to happen.

don't u feel sorry for his friends & family. no1 deserves to die after jst fightin. wot happened to jst punching who had to bring knifes in. bad enough been punched let alone stabbed.

it's scary now walking down ur street thinking u gunna get stabbed or raped. whats happening to this world????

the problem with funfairs these days are the gangs who walk round trying to intimidate everyone,
the fairground people are all too aware of the problems,but unless they employ bouncers at the gate cannot deal with this,
perhaps the police could be more in attendance ?
after all how many police have to go to the football matches to deal with the scum who want to spoil it for every one else ?,

take the last notts goose fair,the gangs around there throwing their weight around,we left saying we wouldnt be going back,
next day that girl was shot and killed,

its the chav/nigga/scum/druggie culture
i hope they throw away the key,

What is wrong with people these days?you go to a fair and end up dead!!!Its scary stuff.
You just don't know whats round the corner,you could be in the street,some youth messing with your car,you have a go at them,they pull a knife thats it your dead!!!Very sad and very worrying.

i went to this fair & their were hardly any gangs. me & my friends were surprised. it aint been tht crowned at all.

it must have been the day we went then ? i dunno,
mind you ..il still go back next time,
i think its a "who are all these people on my patch" type thing the yobs don't seem to be able to handle strangers in "their" neck of the woods,

Anyone who gets into 'just' a fight without trying to get themselves out of the situation is putting themselves at serious risk, its stupid and irresponsible.

An acquaintance of mine was killed by someone who 'just punched' him only once, so fighting shouldn't be talked about like its some kind of sport to be enjoyed after a night of drinking.

police are still at the scene - underwater search team are trawling the local drains for the weapon I suppose - looked funny today - sewer open on Penistone road outside the chinese chippy - match crowd and they're cleaning out the drains - they were pulling out all sorts - looked like they'd not been cleaned out for years!

Have they released any details yet of who got killed (not necessarily murdered at this point!)

It's on the link above Jovan Bethune, who was 18 and from the Firth Park area of the city.

It would probably be best not to speculate on any aspect of the case whether you believe you know facts or not. As far as I am aware nobody has yet been charged, and people releasing 'details' that they may believe to be true are not only upsetting to friends and relatives, but may seriously jeopardise any future trial and I'm sure none of us would want that to happen.

Someone has been charged now, 18 Year old Shakeel Mohammed of Sheffield is due to appear before the city's magistrates on Saturday.
