Some anti-virus packages now include real-time anti-spyware protection too.... most freebies are only scanners though - they don't prevent anything, they just help you clean-up if anything gets installed. Some popular freebies are... Spybot Search & Destroy Ad-Aware SUPER Anti-spyware . fox20thc 28-02-2008, 14:12 Well I just installed adaware and ran a scan, if found nothing at all. :suspect: sallonoroff 28-02-2008, 14:15 Would've expected it to find a tracking cookie or two... Try Spybot S&D too (since they are just scanners, and not permanently resident, you can have more than one installed - unlike Anti-virus) . fox20thc 28-02-2008, 14:18 Would've expected it to find a tracking cookie or two... Try Spybot S&D too (since they are just scanners, and not permanently resident, you can have more than one installed - unlike Anti-virus) . I do run cc cleaner regularly, maybe that cleaned out the cookies sallonoroff 28-02-2008, 14:20 That'd explain it, yes... Also, if you use Firefox or Opera you should hopefully have less chance of picking anything nasty up. . fox20thc 28-02-2008, 14:21 Always Firefox (unless I want to watch some flash stuff FF won't allow) sallonoroff 28-02-2008, 14:24 (unless I want to watch some flash stuff FF won't allow) Flash that doesn't work in FF? You have installed the plugin, right? . fox20thc 28-02-2008, 14:26 Flash that doesn't work in FF? You have installed the plugin, right? . Nope :hihi:(told you I was daft) sallonoroff 28-02-2008, 14:28 Just go to a page with Flash embedded and FF should ask if you want to install Adobe Flash plugin... I tend to just go to www.lge.com when i want to install the plugin, as i know they have a flash intro on their site... . fox20thc 28-02-2008, 14:31 Just go to a page with Flash embedded and FF should ask if you want to install Adobe Flash plugin... If I did install would I have to removed my existing av? Savannah2 28-02-2008, 17:25 Savannah2, is the clamAV just an add on or is it an AV in its own right. If I did install would I have to removed my existing av? I would personly ignore the option to install Clam AV and keep the one you use now. :) |
