View Full Version : In labour - here she comes !
mbunting 28-02-2008, 12:05 Estelle ( mrs mbunting and the usual poster in this area ) broke her waters last night at 10pm, and was 1cm by 11pm, and 4cm by 4am this morning, with no change at 8am.
She's been taken out of the delivery suite and is in the general labour ward until things really get going.
Meanwhile, I'm at home rushing to build the drawers and cot, because she's two weeks early, although bang on "our" date as mentioned somewhere else in here, I think...
I'm going to be a dad !!!

mbunting 29-02-2008, 07:19 Well, she went to the ward, then later in the afternoon started getting pains, and needing gas and air..
The plan was for a gas and air only birth, with a natural 3rd stage.
We got:
An emergency C-Section at 23:45 last night !
Baby couldn't find her way out, despite all the full dilation, pushing etc. She just wanted to go straight back up again.
Mother and baby are now doing fine though, although baby snores just like her mother.. great !
honeyb35 29-02-2008, 07:22 lmao congratulations to you all!!
c&rmicheli 29-02-2008, 08:10 Fantastic news and I'm glad that Mom and Baby are fine. What is Baby's name? My first was an emergency section and it's difficult when you're not expecting it but it's just great to have that little bundle. Try to get some rest after all the rushing about & worrying - make the most of a them being at the hospital for a couple of days to finish off those drawers and stuff lol! The sleepless nights'll start before you know it!:hihi:

Cry Baby Bunting
Daddy's gone a-hunting
Gone to fetch a rabbit skin
To wrap the Baby Bunting in
Cry Baby Bunting
or something. Poor rabbit, I say :(
Anyway, welcome to the world Bunt Jnr!
mbunting 29-02-2008, 22:15 Thanks everyone !
We've named her Rachel Louisa, and she's a real cutie. Really placid and has basically slept the whole night through last night, and most of today.
Not much disturbs her crying wise, and when it does, just a few reassuring hushes from someone gets her quiet within about 10 seconds of a full wail !
As for cry baby Bunting - see above. And how anyone could hunt those cute little wabbits is beyond me. A cow which will provide a nice fillet stake, however.....
I've taken some photos ( a couple of non-flattering ones ) and put them up here..

Enjoy.
