I'm getting a dog this summer and wondered if anyone has ever used Millhouses Dog training before. They are quite local and wondered if they had a good reputation?

We used them in 2002 when Ailsa was a pup- enjoyed the course and learned a lot from it. The tutor is somewhat eccentric but knows her stuff.

I did a training course with Jane (who runs the course) and attended a lot of her classes as an observer as part of my course and she gets good results. The methods are all reward based, no harsh methods used.

ha ha, eccentric she is! That's Katie tho, not Jane lol. I took my GSD there when he was a puppy. It was all very much food / reward based with excellent results from most dogs. I say most, because my GSD is so car sick, that by the time we arrived at the class, he's either already puked n just wanted to lie down, or felt really sick and therefore refused the treats he was being offered! They all seemed really nice people tho - Katie is quite strict & can appear a little "short", but more with the owners than the dogs. She believes (and I'm kind of inclined to agree with her) that there are no bad dogs, just bad owners! I'd say it's definitely worth a bash.

Katie is fab for teaching and My auntie used her over 30 years ago, we reccomend her along with Puppy school Yolande Bosman , both fab teachers ,are known for knowing their stuff and getting great results

Katie - not Jane! Anyone whose been trained by Katie will know what I mean. Shes a terrific tutor though. Oh and Yolande is too- my friend took her labradoodle to Yolande.

Ah sorry Katkin I have only met Katie once at Thornberry so I cant comment on her madness.:hihi:

Jane does the training at Millhouse Dog Training now though as Katie is mainly dong her behaviour clinics I believe.
