It was his final journey taking his steam engine the length of the country.

He knew that he was dying of cancer at the time.

It is a must see for fans of this very special character.

Tuesdays 20.30hrs BBC2

He was at Abbeydale industrial hamlet a while back with his steam engine. I hope that's in the series.

Hi I wondered if any one could help me in locating a Fred Dibnar DVD. I was flipping about the channels earlier on this evening and noticed that Fred Dibnar was taking a tour of Papplewick pumping station in Nottingham.

My father loves Fred Dibnar and has the same fascination for steam as he was bought up at Papplewick waterworks as a child.

I would love to find out what this program was and try to obtain it for my dad as it would mean so much to him.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Regards

Robert

Do you know which of his series that episode was in? Amazon do quite a few Fred Dibnah DVDs. I can't get the link to work, but go to Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/) and do a search for 'Fred Didnah', making sure you've specified 'DVD' in the drop-down menu.

As I can't find the series which has the Papplewick episode, I don't know which one to suggest.

Hi Thank you very much for your reply.

I do not know the series, but I will have a look at Amazon and see if anything turns up. I am just watching one of his programs now on the UK tv History channel, he certainly is a fearless, comical, down to earth interesting fellow.

Thanks again

regards

Robert

Keep an eye on the UKTV History schedules. A couple of series have been repeated once since they were on at Xmas.

The series of his final journey has already been on television. He took his steam engine to the top of Wincobank hill to get a view over Sheffield, but it was too foggy to see anything.
