So why, tonight, when there's some moderately interesting news about a minor earthquake, is BBC1 showing quite possibly the worlds dullest football match where most of the players appear to have gone to sleep ?

To be fair to the BBC they weren't to know it was going to be the world's dullest football match. What could they have said about the earthquake for two hours? "There was a minor earthquake, some things fell over, one person was hurt, a local forum got 230 posts in 10 minutes" :) blade4ever 27-02-2008, 21:53 if you didnt want to watch the match, you could have turned over and watched something else. chriswvtr 27-02-2008, 21:55 Wow, a local teams on terrestrial TV for the first time excluding the original tie for donkeys years and all you lot can do is complain that the news is a bit late. :loopy: Fudbeer 27-02-2008, 21:56 To be fair to the BBC they weren't to know it was going to be the world's dullest football match. Plain Talker 27-02-2008, 22:15 does your tv only show one channel/ not have an "off" button? Thunzi 27-02-2008, 22:28 if you didnt want to watch the match, you could have turned over and watched something else. ... Like the ITV news for instance, that started at the correct time. How the BBC was meant to predict the match would be boring I'll never know, what does the OP suggest? That we cut off a boring game? If that's the case we'd have missed a fantastic last 10 minutes. Daven 28-02-2008, 10:23 Who was playing ? Weathergirl 28-02-2008, 10:25 Sheffield United and Middlesborough Harry Pye 28-02-2008, 12:29 We woz robbed. al_partridge 28-02-2008, 12:36 56% Boro possession blades 44% Shots on target - Boro 9, blades 2 Shots off target - Boro 18, blades 2 Corners - Boro 12, blades 5 So you were robbed.....how exactly? Grandad.Malky 28-02-2008, 12:42 Neither team did enough to win the game, the lottery of a penalty shoot out would have been a fitting end but it wasn’t to be . Plain Talker 29-02-2008, 13:27 by Paul2412 We didnt have balloons to assist us lol no, nor did we face a team that fielded the referee as a midfielder, this time! briggy1967 29-02-2008, 14:52 Cant BELIEVE this Thread.....ANY thread concerning Sheff Utd has been posted under under "entertainment" Paul2412 29-02-2008, 14:56 At the end of the day, you narrowly beat Bolton reserves, won a Man City side beaten by a ballooon and then lost to the only half decent side you came up against (now that was comedy, Kenny should be a comedian). Clare85 29-02-2008, 19:10 I was soooo glad it was on - Wednesday is the worst night of the week for TV i reckon! youwhatref 29-02-2008, 19:32 I think they showed the game as they were honestly hoping for an upset. Although Utd are not performing in the league they still have a good side whilst for me Middlesbrough are average apart from a few good players. With the BBC having the FA Cup rights as well i think they're pressured into showing as many matches as they can. |
