Can anyone tell me where took take my bunny to have his claws clipped or do I just take him to the vets?

The vets will do it yes, and its not mega expensive :)

Vets will do it if you're not confident doing it yourself or if bunny gets stressed. If you've got a good pair of clippers it's easy to do - you can see where the 'quick' starts in each nail and as long as you nip at the ends and well away from the quick, you can't make the nail bleed, but I can understand if you'd rather have a vet do it.

We did our rabbits ourself. Had never done it before but it went really well. we had some flour on hand as a clotting agent if required but thankfully we didn't need it. It took some time because we let him have a little run about between each paw so he didn't have to sit still for too long. We bought the clippers from Pets at home and they were really good. Theres loads of websites that explain how to do it too.

Dont use the spring loaded clippers, they tend to crush the claw rather than clip it. Having some styptic powder or cornflower to hand will help clot any bleeding should you hit the quick.

Claws should be level with the fur trim on the paw, a few millimeters longer than the quick. The quick is easy to see in light coloured rabbits but a torch shone through the claw can help show it up in darker bunnies.

Don forget the dew claw on the front paws.
