It's been a while since Iv;e seen them but watched the 'bob' one on bbc2 the other night and laughed out loud most of the way through it.

Now if the BBC want to get back to original comedy again and leave reality tv behind, then theres the proof that it's possible.

It prompted a long discussion between me and hubby to try and remember the other programmes in this series....

Theres the one turnip one...
The discovering america one.....

help me out peeps??

1. "The Black Adder" - Middle Ages
2. "Black Adder" - Elizabethan
3. "Black Adder" - Regency (George, the Prince Regent)

and the piece de resistance

4. "Black Adder Goes Forth" - the Great War

One of the greatest comedy series ever.

If you're interested, LoopyLou, Blackadder is on almost constant rotation on UKGold on Sky tv.

Apparently they're are going to make a fifth series set in the sixties. They will be part of a hippy band trying to make it big. Baldrick will be the drummer, known as Bald Rick.

I heard this rumour a while back but nothing ever came of it. If they do, they must have the same writers Ben Elton and Richard Curtis and hopefully keep the same charm, wit and humour of the previous 3 series.

After I saw the Millenium twaddle-thing they did for the Dome, I was gutted as to how bad it was.

That sounds really bad

Come up with a new idea, don't spoil something....

There are some comedies that do seem to stand the test of time and i suspect in 25 years people will still be watching re-runs of Blackadder. I think my favorite series had to be the one in the trenches and still find the ending bringing a lump to my throat, not many comedies managed this.
On a side note I've also been enjoying the re-runs of Steptoe and Son, The Likely Lads and of course Hancock's half Hour which I've mostly only heard off a couple of records [you remember big black round vinyl things that predate cassette tapes]

I've also heard that they're are definitely doing another series set in the 60's. I really hope its as good as the others and that isn't just embarrassing.

The best ever episode is "Goodbyeeeee" I've seen it loads of times and it still never fails to bring a tear to my eye.

Was it Blackadder that won the best British comedy ever? I've forgotten. It was either first or second.

blackadder is prob my fave comedy of all time... i love it and could happily watch them constantly and still laugh out loud every minute!

1st series doesnt take my fancy at all.. but 2 and 3 are pure genius and 4 was pretty good as well

if they were to make another im not sure how good it would be...i mean that blackadder back and forth was terrible.

:D you have a womans purse my lord!
