Jess22 26-02-2008, 17:30 Presuming it is the same type (which I think it is) Horse and Rider in Crookes stock it. katkin 27-02-2008, 10:39 Im still using the huge sack I bought from pet supermarket last May (for my gerbils) TheGaffer 27-02-2008, 18:04 Argo Pet feeds sell it, their address is: Argo Feeds Ltd Kirkwood Mill, Sheffield Road, Sheffield, S36 6HQ Jess22 28-02-2008, 17:30 Just found this http://www.northerncropdriers.co.uk/megazorb.htm which tells you a bit about it and where the stockists are. I'm not 100% Horse and Rider stock it now as they are not on there... however I know they buy from Argo. (emptied my pm box now rainbow sky) Can someone just confirm for me that there is only one Megazorb as I knew it as a horse bedding but not as a small animal bedding- although I can see no reason why it can't be I just wondered as they only seem to sell the big bags. rainbow sky 28-02-2008, 20:27 Just found this http://www.northerncropdriers.co.uk/megazorb.htm which tells you a bit about it and where the stockists are. Hi Jess, As far as I can tell there is only one Megazorb, it is actually a horse bedding but it has been recommended to me by some members of the Guinea Pig Forum as excellent bedding for them also, apparently it is a lot more absorbent and less dusty than wood shavings. It's worth a go anyway. theslithytove 03-03-2008, 13:42 You can get Megazorb from Stablemate Equestrian Feeds & Sundries 170 Baslow Road, Totley, Sheffield S17 4DR Tel: 0114 2351315 Best to phone and check they have it in but if they haven't got it in stock it usually arrives within a few days. It costs £5.60 a bag. It is the stuff for horses but I've used it successfully with guinea pigs for 2 years. A bag usually does about 3 changes of my cage (which is a 2 grid x 4 grid Cubes and Coroplast cage - 10.5 square feet). rainbow sky 03-03-2008, 16:13 You can get Megazorb from Stablemate Equestrian Feeds & Sundries 170 Baslow Road, Totley, Sheffield S17 4DR Tel: 0114 2351315 Best to phone and check they have it in but if they haven't got it in stock it usually arrives within a few days. Thanks very much for that, I am trying out Carefresh at minute but its working out really expensive, I was recommended Megazorb by someone and thought I would give it a go. Do you just put it down on its own or on top of newspaper? katkin 03-03-2008, 16:48 Thanks very much for that, I am trying out Carefresh at minute but its working out really expensive, I was recommended Megazorb by someone and thought I would give it a go. Do you just put it down on its own or on top of newspaper? I just use it on its own - pretty absorbant stuff. Price for it at Totley is very reasonable- will have to make a note of it when I need some more SpeedDemon 03-03-2008, 17:41 I guess you could also use this with rabbits instead of wood shavings then? I've never heard of it..... theslithytove 04-03-2008, 10:20 I use it on top of newspaper because I find it makes cleaning out a bit easier - can roll up the newspaper and most of the Megazorb gets picked up. katkin 04-03-2008, 15:16 I guess you could also use this with rabbits instead of wood shavings then? I've never heard of it..... Should be fine- it isnt dusty and if its safe for GPs and gerbils, it should be Ok for bunnies too. Huge sack of the stuff is much cheaper than sawdust and cleaner too Moonbird 04-03-2008, 15:39 I must say it sounds good, but having no transport I guess I will never find out  katkin 04-03-2008, 17:36 I must say it sounds good, but having no transport I guess I will never find out  You can buy it online- it costs a bit more but a few pet suppliers stock it Moonbird 04-03-2008, 19:51 You can buy it online- it costs a bit more but a few pet suppliers stock it Thanks for that Katkin I will have a nose about :) Jess22 05-03-2008, 13:46 Well I have bought a bag (last bag at horse and rider sorry! they did say they will order it in if anyone wants it though). Brilliant, love it :) rainbow sky 05-03-2008, 14:11 Well I have bought a bag (last bag at horse and rider sorry! they did say they will order it in if anyone wants it though). Brilliant, love it :) That was probably mine:hihi: They were ordering me some but decided it was too far away and ordered it from Stablemate instead. rainbow sky 17-03-2008, 15:10 Been using this now for about 2 weeks, I can highly recommend it, its so much better than wood shavings and I got a huge sack for £5.60, so working out pretty cheap as well. |
