I got a scratch (d’oooh…!) on my front bumper, it’s about the area of two fingernails and has a few faint scratch lines around it… The car colour is black, so the bumper’s internal colour – white – really stands out and looks really bad… :(

Do you think I should get it professionally repaired ? (if yes… where ? cost ?)

…or should I try one of the ‘repair it yourself’ kits (i.e. Halfords) ? Would it be easy to repair it myself? Does anybody here have done this before?

Thanks

Depends what the car is? If you have gone down to the primer, which I am presuming you have if you can see white bits the DIY kit ain't much use.

Don't bother trying to repair it yourself, these kits in my experience never work well and will always look like a quick fix job.

You will get a great job done if you take it to the main dealerships bodyshop, you will also get a great BIG invoice too.

Chips-Away will do a superb job and make it look like it was never there in the first place.

I used this guy when I worked for Gilders VW and never had any problems at all with the quality of work.

He can work at your home or alternatively at your work address.
