There is a rumour flying around that Big Sam Allardyce could be the new manager of Sheffield Wednesday should a takeover be completed.Id like to see Laws given a chance,at first I wasn't his biggest fan but I feel he deserves a chance.Remember this is just a rumour from a friend of a friend.

Obviously, as you state, this is just a rumour. And whilst I'd love to believe some of the rumours I've heard in the last few days, I've done that before and been left disappointed.

However, I do hope this rumour isn't true. Laws has had a difficult time with Wednesday primarily due to lack of (financial) support from the current board. But he did show signs of what he is capable of when we had our run in the middle of last season.

Allardyce has shown what he is capable of with his spending and track record at Newcastle - not very impressive really.

I'd stick with Laws (but at a push I'd accept Jose Mourinhio :hihi:).

The latest hot football gossip is that <insert club not doing very well here> intends to appoint <insert manager not currently in work here> as their new manager.

Rinse and repeat, roughly every three days throughout the season.

Laws has done about as well as anyone was ever likely to given Wednesday's current financial position. Look how many different managers achieved absolutely sod-all with the Blades while they were millions in debt.

I hope Laws is given a fair crack of the whip - I think he deserves it.

BUT....if someone is willing to plough millions into the club, would they trust Laws with spending their cash? After all, his signings haven't been very inspiring - Leon Clarke and Francis Jeffers spring to mind:gag:

A lot of managers make mistakes with their transfers.

Laws has signed some good players, Jermaine Johnson, Akpo Sodje, Richard Hinds, Lee Grant to name a few.

In addition, I've also seen marked improvement in the performances of youngsters such as Mark Beevers and Tommy Spurr.

Agreed. Would be a travesty to let him go without giving him a fair crack (& some effing money) though!

Yes, it would be terrible to see him go!, he has done well & i've said, he's ftom the Clough school like Martin O'neil & i heard someone or radio sheff last night that Clough used to call Laws 'Coach', so he must have seen good things in him!
He is passionate & has Wednesday at heart & definately someone with motivational skills.
