Strix 04-03-2005, 07:22 My mum is getting a massage, and Mr. Strix's mum is getting flowers from her local florist. Sorted it yesterday  Ginger_Kitty 04-03-2005, 07:30 My mum demands that I get her nothing :suspect: so yesterday I took her for a nice walk in the peak in the snow and told her that was her pressie.... the CD I got her will arrive just as she thinks I really did get her nothing!!! :D:clap: LoopyLou 04-03-2005, 08:17 (Em, Hope you find your dog love. ) For my mum, its spending time with her that makes the difference, better than any present I could buy. The whole family turning up unannounced (but half expected !!!) to go out for a slap up meal and have fun. Oh and she does like a nice card.. mistyraven 04-03-2005, 13:27 fridgeman.... just a thought... is that your mam are your wife,s mam your taking for dinner...???? Don_Kiddick 04-03-2005, 13:33 My Mam died 12 years ago. So it looks like a wreath again... Predictable really. nick2 04-03-2005, 13:35 Last year I made my mum some chocolate cornflake crispy buns because she loves them. igm1 04-03-2005, 13:46 I've got my mum a card, do I have to get her something else? Somebody has a lot to learn about women  msbehavin 04-03-2005, 14:29 When my kids were small I used to love the hand-made cards they brought home from school/brownies etc with painted pieces of pasta, material etc stuck on the front with loads of glue and childish scrawly writing across the top. Breakfast in bed could often be interesting too - cold burnt toast, lukewarm cups of milky tea with various leaves floating on the surface and one memorable year, a cake that had in it a tablespoon of bicarb instead of a teaspoon (gotta be a bit of a baker to get that one). They had iced the cake whilst it was still warm too, so all the bright pink icing had just soaked in and it looked like a sample from an autopsy rather than a mothers day treat. This year we seem to have difficulty fitting in a mothers day meal because of their busy social calendars - sighhhh - at least I have my memories ..... sniff (leans back and rocks herself sadly in rocking chair) ;) deecee 04-03-2005, 15:30 Originally posted by IanMitchell I've got my mum a card, do I have to get her something else? K x Applegrim 04-03-2005, 20:59 My son sent me flowers, but the best present was when he walked through the door and I thought he was 300 miles away. igm1 04-03-2005, 23:41 Originally posted by deecee A hug and a I love you Mum,, costs nothing but means everything !!! :) Lol but I do that everyday Kristian 04-03-2005, 23:47 Originally posted by IanMitchell Lol but I do that everyday So you should too; Moms (in general) are far too often taken for granted, and Mothering Sunday is one holiday I don't think is commercialised crap! K x rosie 05-03-2005, 07:10 My day starts watching Formula 1, then, it gets better. My son is playing Rugby and last year on mothers day he scored a try, not strange you may think. It is when you play number 3. So he going to have a go again this year. Both my youngest have made cards this year and to me seeing them play sports and having them make a card is more important than paying a fortune for presents. All my children will come for sunday evening dinner and thats how I like my mothers day. My best present ever from my eldest son, who's now 23, was a couple of years ago, he used to be mad on WWF, as it was known then, and he bought me the Mankind autobiography from WHS Smith, I was ecstatic cos at the time we were all mad on american wrestling and I loved Mankind to bits  And yeah I still got the book!
