1. Don't believe anything about the Wednesday takeover until you actually hear it from the horses mouth.

2. Are you sure he didn't say 'aiming to keep them in the Championship for the next 5 years', because I can't see anyone other than Bill Gates having enough to get us to the top of the Premiership.

3. It's nothing new for a board/management to be ambitious. Last year Spurs stated they wanted to challenge for Champions League this year - they are in the bottom half of the Premiership at the moment having sacked the manager they had last year. This morning, their management team stated again that they were aiming for Champions League next year. All boards aim high; and nearly all fail to achieve their aims.

4. Wednesday's board have adapted a cunning tactic in recent years. Offer a glimmer of hope to your fans without offering any actual mechanism to achieve said plans, and when you inevitably fail, offer up a sacrifice (Turner, Sturrock etc.), and redraw your plans with an equally ridiculous goal, but reset the timescale to 0. When questioned as to why you have failed to achieve the original target, and wether the board is responsible, critice those questioning this as being 'negative' and 'living in the past', and demand that everyone looks to the future. You can never lose this way as you are continually moving targets and removing the means to measure your achievement.

Read it in the metro. Also my mates at School bragging about it. One of them felt confident enough to have me a 10 pound bet lol.
Probably will never happen, who knows though.

Assuming there's any truth in the article at all...

...if a new SWFC owner thinks he should be aiming for the Champions' League, he shows good sense. If he thinks he's going to succeed at it, he isn't.

Targets should always outweigh likely ability. Otherwise, there's no attempt to improve.

there is nothing wrong with aiming high, however, if the manager got us into prem and kept us there but didnt really get much better than mid tabl, would they sack him because he hadnt got us into champions league. if they did then thats something i couldnt agree with

Love the fact that 90% of the takeover threads, and come to think of it, Wednesday threads in general, are started by Blunts.

The takeover will happen.

Sit tight, it's going to be massive...

Woah, woah there! I don't disagree with the Green un quote & if you've seen some my exes then i'd be forced to concede the 'sexual deviancy' but WHEN...WHEN did you start using words like 'triumvirate'?? I'll admit I had to look that one up.

Is this the same FD we know and luv from some of his first posts on here. You appear to be coming on leaps and bonds, my son and you make your mother & I very proud.

Now if we can just get you in the famous blue & white stripes we will most definitely have a winner.

I hope it happens for them.

God knows they need the money.

Champions League in 5 years is very OTT.

Especially since it looks damn near impossible to break that top 4.

Although I do reckon Everton or Villa may break it this year BUT look how long it has taken them to do it and look how long they have been in the premiership for.

What was "deviated" about watching eleven timid creatures, being husbanded by a far superior species in Sheffield approximately five weeks ago?

Only get chance to jump on the computer when the rest of the house leave it alone. This usually means either had a few beers or just finished work and knackered.
When the brain is in full working order and i can get on fresh then you see the results. I hope that clears things up jazzy:thumbsup:

Hee, hee! One could say i've been a tad promiscuous in my youth (and no, that's not with back issues of the Green 'Un) but I had no idea I had TWO illegitimate children, G!

Many thanks, G. It's good to be back & fingers-crossed, with plenty of ammunition in the near future. :) It was backs to the wall on here for us Owls until United do what they do best and got relegated (that made up for a hell of a lot). The wind of change is blowing & I had PLENTY of chilli sauce on the old kebab last night, so i'll be right in there. Right in there. ;)

It's happened to us all.

The worst is if you work shifts, and you are initially on the right shift pattern for a game, and can go; and then it is rescheduled for Tele, or it snowed (or as you have pointed out in Wednesday's case, because pitch has got a bit wet) on a date when you're on shift! Even worse wwhen it's a cup replay and one of your mates off the other shift offers to buy your ticket!

You should still be able to do 'Boro now in two hours!

on the other thread of BB's - parallel to this - in which you mentioned about not going to the game -

which I hadn't seen when I typed my comments on the original post (but saw them just afterwards),

which is why I edited my post afterwards - with words sorry.....

OK ???

Goodnight.

I know. I would easily have fallen asleep, had Ibeen waiting for the rest of your household to leave the computer, to allow you to get a point in. As it was I fell asleep during the game.

I think you'd better direct the "pops" comment at Jazzy, and try get some money out of him. Good luck :)
Don''t think yur Muim would be happy about you being in the care of your wicked Uncle Geo, and the places he (allegedly) frequents.
