At 7pm tonight then again at 8.30pm I answered the door to 2 seperate guys asking for money each month towards the RSPCA. They both had on blue tabards with RSPCA across the front but I just found it strange that someone would call round after dark wanting you to commit to a charity. Are they serious or are they dodgy, did anyone else have them at the door? S5 area.
Did they have any ID? Perhaps you could contact a local office and enquire to see if they were legit.
To save you looking ..here is their phone number 0114 2727542

it does seem strange...Where abouts in S5 was it.
Yes I had them at my door recently.
I asked if it was a weekly collection and the guy said no it was to be debited from my bank account.
I didn't go for it though as I regularly collect items which I then take to various charity shops and over the years have donated hundreds of pounds to good causes so am happy enough to keep on doing things my own way.
I might be imagining this, but isn't it illegal to collect door-to-door?
To save any further comment, I rang the RSPCA and they said that "We have had door to door collectors working in S5" so it looks likely that it was genuine ;)
