Hello Folks,

On my usual drive through Spital Hill on the way home, I have to dodge a number of cars parked on both sides of Spital Hill (mainly people going into the restaurants), and ladies with large jugs (the glass kind :o ) crossing the road to get to the pub for a drink with their meals. Mostly they are not a problem, with many of the drivers having some consideration for the locals and parking to allow the traffic to flow freely. Of course they are welcome here, and are never usually a problem... but some people just can't help it.

Might I kindly suggest to the self important ignorant mofo's amongst those diners, that people do actually live locally here and its not just for you to arrive in leisurely style (and I mean that with most the cars there topping £40k+) to come and park the feckers 3ft away from the kerb so nobody can get past without one driver having to give way. Whilst I might also add the offender in this case was the driver of a black Porsche (YP03 ***), in future (if you ever read this) please have some fecking manners and park your german dustbin a little closer in. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if I parked on the road leading to your home, blocking half of it off. This also goes for the Blue IS200 Lexus, and Silver BMW X5 - did you all get your driving licences from Noddy's School of Motoring?

I feel better now 8)

It would be a shame if these cars were to get damaged in some way with being so poorly parked.....

Tinajones - as you say, might be cheap, but do have some quality. Not a patch on Wilmslow Road in Manchester though, which I prefer to dine at.

Alchresearch - You might be suprised but these cars do not get broken into, damaged or the like. The residents here are not concerned about who comes to dine here, they're welcome, but just have a little bit of respect for those who live here and other road users who use this busy (somewhat narrow) stretch.

There are some absolutely stunning cars which you will find lining both sides of the road here (most recently a few new Porsches (one of them £100k Turbo), Ferrari 360 Modena, as many Range Rovers as you can shake a stick at, and lots of Mercs and BMWs. One can only deduce these folk come from more posh areas of town, but they are happy and confident enough to come here park their cars and enjoy their meals.

I for one would stop and investigate if I saw any of these cars being tampered with, which I am yet to hear of.

It is my view that they are more then welcome here, and of course I feel many other residents feel the same way. Just please don't make life more difficult by blocking the roads.

hehe!

Seriously though, if Sheffield wants to compete in the ethnic cuisine stakes, it need not look any further than Wilmslow Road.

Thoroughly good food, at very reasonable prices.
The reason I say this it because its not only just about the food, but these restaurants in Manchester (such as Sanam for example) have spends £100k's on redevelopment of their premises, and the kitchens there which I visited last time to speak to the chef are perhaps the cleanest you will ever find.

Top Notch!

Forgive my ignorance 1Man, but I honestly thought the cars would be owned by gangsters, hence the cars are parked where they cause the most disturbance (I suppose a drug dealer showing consideration is asking a bit much) and of course nobody would dare tamper with a drug dealers car

There's a similar problem further down the road in Page Hall, but with cars at the other end of the social spectrum ;)

This is Spital Hill, all the gangsters are safely tucked up in bed in Ecclesall. These are more likely cars belonging to asylum seekers which have been supplied at the expense of pensioners.

(irony, for those of you haven't read my previous posts on the subject)

Abby

Shame on you! Comparing the problems of Page Hall with Spital Hill is somewhat quite different, as you said about the spectrum thingy!

Anyway, no they aren't gangsters car or the like, and although I don know a few who live up towards Ecclesall anyway, they don't dine on Spital Hill!
