Sounds like a mishtake to me putting petrol instead of derv in your tank sir.:confused: If so depending on how much you put in you may get away wuth topping it up with more diesel otherwise drain the system methinks.

its highly unlikely that it could have been mixed prior to going into your vehicle, there are so many checks made before it goes into the storage tanks that it would be virtually impossible. (please note that I say virtually impossible).

I read that diesel does get an additive in it over Winter to prevent it freezing and aiding cold starting, maybe that's the "petrol" smell you're getting?

The moral of the story is dont buy your deisel from crooks, buy it from honest, law abiding people.
