I have to visit DVLA on Napier Street this week and wondered if anyone could tell me where the best place to park is. Last time I went up there I couldn't get anywhere near.

Go about 9.30/9.45am - the people who went there first thing have gone by then. I went recently expecting a good hour wait (as I did the previous time) and was seen straight away. It was the last day of the month too, got parked in the DVLA's own car park. Failing that, Waitrose is defo the best alternative.

If you're not going to be long I'd park at Waitrose and buy a paper or a sandwich. I'd not risk that! The parking is usually only for the period you are a customer there - leaving a car there and disappearing off to do something else could result in a clamp.
For DVLA parking, I'd not bother, use another method to get there - parking around that area is not easy!

How about using one of the many car parks surrounding Washington Road flats on the other side of Cemetary Road? They never seem full.

Hiya I think you can park in waitrose for 2 hours as I work nearby and people I work with are always moving their cars! One did get a ticket the other day though for £30 as he went over the limit so be careful. Its now all permit holders only although outside greens gym there are meters which are only £1.50 ish for a few hours.

Pay and display on Mackenzie Street. It's closer than Waitrose. I think it's 20p ph.

Yes it's maximum of 2 hours parking at Waitrose.
