I've seen a company called 'Love in a Mist' they were exhibiting at one of the wedding fayres I was at. I might still have there brochure with their details on if you want me to rummage for it. I always do a run of the companies that I think might be useful when I'm there. samlasota 24-04-2007, 21:51 either would be good. Thinking of buying the material and making them for myself! I have looked around the net but they are sooooooo expensive, has anyone hired any locally cheaply ? Thanks x I had this dilemma when I got married, but got over it by using candles to light the hall. The ambience and the rest of the table were decorated so beautifully that the hideous black chairs kind of disappeared. I know this is probably not the kind of answer you're looking for, and I don't want to seem to undermine your dream day. I know these things are important, but just remember: the guests are there because they really care to be, chair covers or not. Anyway, good luck! Tanya T 1 01-05-2007, 07:31 I am also wanting chair covers for my wedding, so if you find anywhere that is reasonable would you let me know. Thanks Kashul 01-05-2007, 14:31 Zweena, I know what your saying and I appreciate the entiment shown hon...However !! haha Your a sweetheart x Tanya I ahve found somewhere...I will pm the link xx samlasota 01-05-2007, 22:17 im buying material and making my own! got 90 to make as they are so expensive! I am inviting 100 guests, so have settled on buying some cheap fabric (curtain lining) and making them myself... comes out about half the price but a boring job. KATIEB_23 02-10-2007, 08:17 £2 each is cheap! One one of the venue's price lists that I read it said £8 per chair! :o Won't making them yourself take absolutely ages?! Kashul 05-10-2007, 05:39 There are some great packages on ebay, I ended up with Pauline from http:www.magicmomentsweddings.org.uk Shes done me an amazing deal and has all sorts, she comes and sets up and then takes it all away afterwards and if she can fit into my pocket she can fit into most lol Patrick1346 27-12-2007, 19:33 Try Ebay some real bargins *Indigo* 01-01-2008, 09:18 Hi, if you are still looking for wedding chair covers I am hiring them at £3 each at the moment. indigoweddings.co.uk HarrietStar 03-01-2008, 14:07 I really would have to recommend Pretty Chairs. Originally, I wanted to go with Love in a Mist because I preferred their style of 'wraps' rather than covers, but they were unavailable on the day of our wedding. In the end, Pretty Chairs provided us with 80 ivory chair covers at the last minute, they came and dressed the chairs and took the covers away the next day - it was completely hassle free and made a massive difference to the look of the room. I think it cost about £4.50 per chair. Initially I had rejected the idea of chair covers as an unnecessary expense, but I'm really glad we decided to have them in the end. Good luck babychickens 25-03-2008, 21:00 Whatever you do, be careful how much you leave trailing bits of cloth hanging around - drunk people aren't exactly aware or appreciative of all the effort and artistic creativity you put into the occasion, and are instead much more likely to pull tables/chairs/each other over by accident. Also, tbh I think if you manage to do summut worth doing for less than £3 per chair I'll be really impressed. brianthedog 26-03-2008, 07:24 i'm not sure that you will be able to make them for as little as £3 a chair! some of the ones ive seen for hire are really nice and material is quite expensive if you want it to look good. I'm getting married next year with 70 guests too, and I have the same problem! I was looking at getting chair covers but also thought they were quite expensive! I was going to make my own, but thought it would be time consuming! So I looked on ebay, and found ones that you can hire for about £1 - £1.50 per chair which i thought were quite reasonable. You have to put them on the chairs yourself, so I think I might go for this option. Hope this helps! Thanks! _____________ Strix 09-02-2010, 10:11 You're not far wrong Matthew - I didn't bother with chair covers Mind you, some venues have some horrid :gag: chairs - at least the velvet finish on those at our venue went quite well with the colour scheme for the bridal party outfits ;) unowho 23-03-2010, 15:04 Hi, I am looking for Chair Covers for my wedding next year, Has anyone used Decorative Chairs or can you recommend anyone else? im unsure whether to go with cotton or lycra, anyone got opinions? I am having lycra covers for my wedding as they can look so much tidier! depends on your chair sizes, if the cotton ones fit well then they are more popular. How soon do we need to book these in? At the moment it is isnt top of my list of things to do but wouldnt want to leave it too late then not get any??!! Also, any recommendations would be great - we wouldnt really want to spend more than £3 per chair... Many Thanks! Sambilena 29-06-2010, 13:20 Hi Trotterette We already have some people that booked with us up to September next year, I'd say if your definately wanting chair covers, you might be best to book now to avoid overpaying at the end (as it usually tends to be the expensive companies that have bookings left). We have an offer of £2.25 inc sash (colour of your choice) running until 01/08/2010 with low deposit to secure booking. If you would like to discuss your requirements, please contact us at hand-in-hand@hotmail.co.uk thanks sam hand in hand wedding specialists Trotterette 29-06-2010, 15:23 Thanks - does sound wise to book most things in sooner rather than later, to avoid last minute stress if nothing else! Sambilena 30-06-2010, 07:57 hi, it totally depends on your budget and the effect you want. some go for no. of people attending wedding breakfast, and have plain chairs brought in later for evening guests (ie when disco starts so its dark and not that noticable) some people prefer to pay a little extra and get them all the same. feel free to pm me or email on hand-in-hand@hotmail.co.uk for a personalised quotation so you can see what the cost difference would be. We currently have an offer running at £2.25 per sash including sash (for any orders booked before 01/08/2010-although dates are rapidly filling up) Hope this helps Sam Hand In Hand Wedding Specialists smarkham 07-07-2010, 20:01 Go the for the cotton, peoples clothes will stick to the Lycra. Try Christine at Ambience, she is very helpful. Regards Sue Sambilena 07-07-2010, 21:46 I supply chair covers in lycra, and can assure people (along with many of the other chair cover suppliers) that lycra covers do not stick to peoples clothing! We used to supply polycotton covers but have recently upgraded all our stock to lycra as they provide a much nicer fit on all chairs and look neater (due to having no creases). Im not sure if cheaper versions of the covers available on ebay etc would give a problem like this, although I doubt it, but any good chair cover company would not provide poor quality covers as reputation is everything for a wedding business. Sam Hand-in-Hand Wedding Specialists Hargate 20-08-2010, 21:51 Can anyone recommend a company that does chair covers with sashes, that also set up and collect please. The location is Hargate Hall in Derbyshire. Thank Em x Hi Em You will meet one of the chair cover companies when you come to our wedding fair on the 19th September. Anthony Miss_S_83 22-03-2011, 21:25 Hi there I have trawled through the megathreads etc but need to ask a specific Q- I need 120 x white chair covers. Preferably traditional ones not lycra but either will do. Organza sashes- purple (120) although I reckon I could buy those myself if needed. 5 x large white round tablecloths for table of 8. Then the rest of the guests (80) are spread over 4 and 5 person tables (round) and I need cloths for those too. I would be willing to DIY it on the day if needs be during my 'gap' (need to do balloons myself at this rate anyway), but need to find it cheap enough. I do have a lady who can do the covers and large cloths but not the smaller ones so wondered if anyone else can. I have looked on eBay to DIY it but it would only cost the same to buy (or more) and even thoguh I could sell after it would be a lot of work. If it was a decent saving I would DIY it! Any recommendations? ThemesUnltd 22-03-2011, 21:56 youcanhire.co.uk in eckington are worth a look if you are doing it yourself. They are at the main crossroads in Eckington (rotherham road?) just down the hill from Morrisons supermarket. As well as chair covers we also hired the matching chair bows as well as the coloured table linen. We could not believe the difference it made to the standard hotels chairs and tables, it totally transformed them and made the reception look really beautiful.:) HarrietStar 02-04-2011, 11:44 we used prettychairs, had White chair covers and lilac sashes, they did a great job :) wedding fair 02-04-2011, 11:47 If your on a budget DIY brings the cost down. Just collect the covers the day before the wedding and return them 2 days latter. A great option all you need is family and friends to help you out. The DIY sweetie buffet is also a great option, choose your sweetie theme, place your order. Collect all your ready packed glass wear the day before, return 2 days latter. Does anyone know where i can get them cheap enough :) Hey, sorry to stalk you but are you looking for them for the hotel,, but cheaper? I was last night, I did have a woman I found on Hitched but she also charges £2.50 per chair, was willing to do 120 for £270 rather than £300 though. I found a few online a lot cheaper but they are the ones you have to do yourself (IE no set-up). Also after that I found Vicky and Sparkle n Shine, she was a bit cheaper I think (Lycra ones), and was very helpful with me when I was having a nightmare about the whole chair cover thing with the 'old' venue. x-GiGgLeS-x 25-05-2011, 20:44 You aint stalking me I need help!! lol x I dont mind setting the chair covers up to be honest because I have bought my own centre pieces and other bits and bobs for the table so doing that should be ok I think!! haha I can't find any cheap ones though Miss_S_83 26-05-2011, 16:54 http://www.chaircoversforbrides.co.uk/?gclid=CJPcvcyKhqkCFcJP4QodHD7FjA http://www.whitechaircovers.co.uk/ These were a couple of companies I found when I thought about DIYing them :) x x-GiGgLeS-x 26-05-2011, 18:41 http://www.chaircoversforbrides.co.uk/?gclid=CJPcvcyKhqkCFcJP4QodHD7FjA http://www.whitechaircovers.co.uk/ These were a couple of companies I found when I thought about DIYing them :) x Thanks!
