I had this dilemma when I got married, but got over it by using candles to light the hall. The ambience and the rest of the table were decorated so beautifully that the hideous black chairs kind of disappeared.

I know this is probably not the kind of answer you're looking for, and I don't want to seem to undermine your dream day. I know these things are important, but just remember: the guests are there because they really care to be, chair covers or not. Anyway, good luck!

pretty chairs in sheffield, the big do in Manchester and another new company but can't remember their name - will come up if you google wedding chair covers sheffield I think!

The cheapest I have found are £2 each to hire on Ebay. I am inviting 100 guests, so have settled on buying some cheap fabric (curtain lining) and making them myself... comes out about half the price but a boring job.

I really would have to recommend Pretty Chairs. Originally, I wanted to go with Love in a Mist because I preferred their style of 'wraps' rather than covers, but they were unavailable on the day of our wedding. In the end, Pretty Chairs provided us with 80 ivory chair covers at the last minute, they came and dressed the chairs and took the covers away the next day - it was completely hassle free and made a massive difference to the look of the room. I think it cost about £4.50 per chair. Initially I had rejected the idea of chair covers as an unnecessary expense, but I'm really glad we decided to have them in the end.

Beautiful Chair Covers For Special Occasions

I get married in october.The wedding breakfast and evening reception is in a country pub in Worrall just up from Loxley.The venue is lovely.The chairs are wooden and all different sizes so I am considering covers for the wedding breakfast.There is 43 in total.Is it part of the charm having the chairs as they are?Is it an unneccesary expense to have them covered?I have looked on a few websites but they charge extra for under 65 chairs.Any advice or recommendations please?

Whatever you do, be careful how much you leave trailing bits of cloth hanging around - drunk people aren't exactly aware or appreciative of all the effort and artistic creativity you put into the occasion, and are instead much more likely to pull tables/chairs/each other over by accident.

Also, tbh I think if you manage to do summut worth doing for less than £3 per chair I'll be really impressed.

I'm getting married next year with 70 guests too, and I have the same problem! I was looking at getting chair covers but also thought they were quite expensive! I was going to make my own, but thought it would be time consuming! So I looked on ebay, and found ones that you can hire for about £1 - £1.50 per chair which i thought were quite reasonable. You have to put them on the chairs yourself, so I think I might go for this option. Hope this helps!

I think it £4 a chair with sash and they do all the set up and collection.
They are based in Barnsley but i think they do all south yorkshire.

We had 150 in our reception room and 100 in our ceremony room. They finished the room off great, it would not have looked the same without them. The lady was there at 8am to put them all out and she came back the next day to take them all off and away again. Very reasonably priced aswell.:)

Totally agree,some of the above mentioned are sus I have had a bad experience from one myself. Prettychairs are very good my friend used them.I was very happy with indigo wedding chairs.It is easy to go for the cheapest but sometimes if you pay a little more the service and quality is far better.

Don't use J and R wedding chair covers. I paid them, recieved no receipt, no service and she is ignoring my requests for a refund. It's not worth the hassle or the stress.

I, like other B2B have been done by J & R wedding chair covers. I thought that I could claim the money I have spent with them, on my wedding insurance, HOWEVER, because I haven't heard anything from her to either state that she's been declared bankrupt ot her business has been liquidated, I cannot claim a penny! Could anyone offer any advice etc. has anyone had anything from her stating that she's gone bust? Does anyone know where to look to find out any info?

My Friend booked them when they were J and R chair covers, they went bust! Nowtrading under a different name. I wouldnt trust them If I was you.
There is some good companies out there, try sparkle n shine weddings. Very competive prices.

She has chair covers to offer at £2.25 per chair including sash and fitting. One of the cheapest in this area, she has really good feedback aswell.

I supply chair covers in lycra, and can assure people (along with many of the other chair cover suppliers) that lycra covers do not stick to peoples clothing!

We used to supply polycotton covers but have recently upgraded all our stock to lycra as they provide a much nicer fit on all chairs and look neater (due to having no creases). Im not sure if cheaper versions of the covers available on ebay etc would give a problem like this, although I doubt it, but any good chair cover company would not provide poor quality covers as reputation is everything for a wedding business.

I have trawled through the megathreads etc but need to ask a specific Q-

I need 120 x white chair covers. Preferably traditional ones not lycra but either will do.

Organza sashes- purple (120) although I reckon I could buy those myself if needed.

5 x large white round tablecloths for table of 8.

Then the rest of the guests (80) are spread over 4 and 5 person tables (round) and I need cloths for those too.

I would be willing to DIY it on the day if needs be during my 'gap' (need to do balloons myself at this rate anyway), but need to find it cheap enough.

I do have a lady who can do the covers and large cloths but not the smaller ones so wondered if anyone else can. I have looked on eBay to DIY it but it would only cost the same to buy (or more) and even thoguh I could sell after it would be a lot of work. If it was a decent saving I would DIY it!

Any recommendations?

For chair covers hire in sheffield i'd try youcan hire. They are at the main crossroads in Eckington (rotherham road?) just down the hill from Morrisons supermarket. As well as chair covers we also hired the matching chair bows as well as the coloured table linen. We could not believe the difference it made to the standard hotels chairs and tables, it totally transformed them and made the reception look really beautiful.:)

we used prettychairs, had White chair covers and lilac sashes, they did a great job :)

If your on a budget DIY brings the cost down. Just collect the covers the day before the wedding and return them 2 days latter. A great option all you need is family and friends to help you out. The DIY sweetie buffet is also a great option, choose your sweetie theme, place your order. Collect all your ready packed glass wear the day before, return 2 days latter. Based in Rotherham so pretty central to the area.

Hey, sorry to stalk you but are you looking for them for the hotel,, but cheaper? I was last night, I did have a woman I found on Hitched but she also charges £2.50 per chair, was willing to do 120 for £270 rather than £300 though. I found a few online a lot cheaper but they are the ones you have to do yourself (IE no set-up). Also after that I found Vicky and Sparkle n Shine, she was a bit cheaper I think (Lycra ones), and was very helpful with me when I was having a nightmare about the whole chair cover thing with the 'old' venue.

You aint stalking me I need help!! lol x I dont mind setting the chair covers up to be honest because I have bought my own centre pieces and other bits and bobs for the table so doing that should be ok I think!! haha I can't find any cheap ones though
