I have an older (6 yrs) E tower pc and it DOES a cd player on board. Does that mean I can transfrer pix from my files to a blank cd for storage?

You'll need a CD or DVD Writer not just a 'player'.

thanx cqk! Can I download any free software that will give me a "cd writer"? I tried 1 but I can't seem to get it to work! It's called Burn Express but when I try to view the cd I supposedly burned I can't find anything

You need to have a physical CD Writer, you cannot just use writer software with a standard CD drive.

A cd writer is the hardware not the software.
Two ways to tell are if the front og the Cd drive says anything like CD RW / CD + R / Cd-R
or
Open up my computer then right click on the Cd Drive and click properties. If there is a tab call recording then you have a CD writer if not then just a CD player.
