Every single dealing I have with Royal Mail/Post Office leaves me fuming. It's as if they go out of their way to be truly dreadful. How can a company be THAT bad at taking money? Fair enough they try to deliver something to your house and you're out, but then to have ridiculous opening hours at the offices is bonkers. Don't they get it? The reason I wasn't in and need to go to the sorting office is I'm at work, therefore if you only open the same hours as I'm at work then we're just not going to get anywhere are we? How can they still think that kind of policy works? They get my goat. Also, why let me queue for 45 mins to post a parcel, only to get to the front of the queue and be told that I can't post it as they've run out of customs stickers! How does that work? That's what they DO, they can't run out. Idiots. Oh, and the reason I have to queue for 45 mins is that I have to go in my lunchbreak. I'd go on a Saturday afternoon, but as a customer-orientated, ready to serve, efficient, well-organised company always ready to take my money they do the right thing and close on Saturday afternoons. They don't seem to know it's 2005. Hate them. Another gripe was the 3 different prices I was quoted to send the same parcel the same method to the same place - ranging from £8 to £33. I don't get it. Oh, and to top it all off, one of their drivers nearly killed me the other night whilst undertaking/speeding in a bus lane. Then got a touch of road rage and tailgated me, swerved in front and jammed on the brakes etc. Muppet. All that meant was that I could write down all the code numbers on his van and report him. The only good thing about Royal Mail is that you can complain via their website. I hate them. Sorry, ranting on a bit. HotPhil 03-03-2005, 13:55 Forgot: Roll on the end of the monopoly! fnkysknky 03-03-2005, 15:08 It won't make much of a difference - the mail will still be going through the Royal Mail system. Btw, you can arrange for them to redeliver a parcel if you can't pick it up :) HotPhil 03-03-2005, 15:58 Ah, but where to? I won't be in as I work and my work's security policy was that they won't accept delivery. My friends work too. fnkysknky 03-03-2005, 16:20 Well you ****ed then unless you send someone else down for you, don't tell me - they're all working :) KATIEB_23 03-03-2005, 16:51 Originally posted by hotphil Your experience doesn't surprise me at all. HotPhil 03-03-2005, 17:01 Yep, everyone I know works and it's such a hassle getting stuff delivered elsewhere that I go and meet the obnoxious staff at some ridiculously early hour of the morning. Got used to it now though and tend not to order anything if it gets sent Royal Mail. At least with Citylink, UPS etc you can get to their offices. At the end of the day, a couple of extra days to pick stuff up isn't the end of the world, but I can't understand their fundamental objection to taking money off people. That is what businesses do. Except the Royal Mail. They're just not interested, corporation-wide. A start would be opening at the hours I can get to them. Then there's the "additional services". It's all very well advertising holiday money and car insurance on the TV but what they don't tell you is that you have to queue for 30 mins, shout through the glass at a cashier who, if they've got the slightest clue what you're on about, doesn't give two hoots. That or make an appointment at my bank, go and see them, sit down have a coffee, get it all sorted. Guess who's getting my Direct Debit each month? I tell, put me in charge of Post Office for 6 months and they'd be some changes! spartacus 20-06-2005, 21:39 I worked as a postie and I KNOW that they're the worst employer in Britain. |
