Funke88 20-09-2003, 22:58 I'm embarrassed to admit it but I loved Abba and Gary Glitter. 1974, I think, I had the band Sweet and the Bay City Rollers stuck on my wall next to my bed. Les was my favourite Roller  Way before that in 1971 (ish) I liked Suzie Quatro- Can the Can 1975 I was in love with David Cassidy  Here's my favourite song that I would like to share with you all... Old enough to remember the 70's - Wow - I'm old enough to remember the 40's! Favourite bands of the 70's: Moody Blues, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Best vocal of ANY decade: Frank Sinatra. Funke88 22-09-2003, 01:14 Originally posted by halevan Snap! You like the same as me! ooh:aren't we square??? Hey, easy now. Back then in the 70s we were cool. 8) Bay city Rollers were to die for. I progressed onto David Cassidy later after watching the Partridge Family. I was definitely not square. Funke88 23-09-2003, 03:08 Originally posted by halevan Snap! BasilRathbon 14-08-2006, 12:25 Jethro Tull, Mike Oldfield, Genesis. Only discovered them in the mid-80s when the popular music of that time became so desperately poor. Was a bit of a revelation to discover that, contrary to the views of the music press, what went before punk and new wave was infinitely superior! Sultana 14-08-2006, 12:34 Sweet & T Rex were the ones gracing my walls with their posters. I used to be in the T Rex fan club - still have a T shirt packed away somewhere! Ousetunes 14-08-2006, 12:55 Groooaaaannnnn - I know I shouldn't do this, but here goes. I loved Abba and the Bee Gees. Alas, I didn't own any records by these guys in the seventies. In fact, I didn't own anything by them till the CD came along. The Bee Gees Greatest Hits, a double CD, I bought in 1987. I really dug Darts. Dook, dook, dook, dook of earl, earl earl and Come Back My Love (sends me back to crashing into the waves at Herringthorpe Swimming Centre early nineteen seventy eight). I DID own a Darts record (the latter one above). But see, this is where it all gets a little, well, worrying. I didn't own many singles in the 1970s, but I did own these:- I remember Elvis Presley by Danny Mirror (it actually got to number four in September 1977; Angelo by Brotherhood Of Man (NUMBER ONE!!! July 1977). Add Darts to these and that's quite a comprehensive record collection isn't it? Three. You can see why I considered the Smiths a much needed breath of fresh air come 1983, can't you? Can I go now?:D carcrash 14-08-2006, 13:06 Bill Withers, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Led Zep, Dobie Grey, Blondie, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Stray Cats, brotherhood of man. Till Man 14-08-2006, 14:33 Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Motorhead, Scorpions, UFO, Rainbow, All great rock acts who started in the 70s sccsux 14-08-2006, 15:31 Moody Blues, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
