A toolbar with the logo for 'Mirar' has appeared out of the blue just below my address bar containing a search button and a popup blocker which is really very annoying.
how do I get rid of this evil thing ?
Thank you.

I just did a quick google and it looks like you have to do some registry editing!
Type in 'Mirar' and you will see lots of pages like this one. (http://www.spyany.com/program/article_spw_rm_Mirar.html)
I'm not sure if should be helping a Wendy'ite :suspect: :hihi: :hihi:
Only joking Lestat :)
First thing is to check in Add/Remove programs to see if there is any referance to a toolbar in there.
If not you have to download some utilities to get rid of it.
Here's what i posted yesterday in someone else's thread. It applies to your problem too.
Download, install and update Ad-Aware SE (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and Spybot Search and Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/). Also install and update CWShredder (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html).
Now reboot the computer in to safe mode (Press f8 repeatedly while rebooting. select safe mode at the boot screen).
If your runing XP, turn System Restore off!. (Right click on 'My Computer', select 'System Restore' and turn it off.
Now run all the updated programs as well as your Antivirus.
Have all the programs fix whatever they find and reboot the pc.
Now turn System Restore back on again.
Did this fix your friends problem?.
If not, join the forum in my signature and post a HijackThis log (http://www.download.com/HijackThis/3000-8022_4-10307556.html?tag=lst-0-1).
Me or one of my collegues will check it and give further instructions :).
I hope this helps
